The ideal candidate combines strong Workday platform knowledge with practical engineering discipline and the ability to translate business requirements into clean, maintainable Workday configurations. In this role you will work closely with cross-functional partners — product, design, engineering, operations, and business stakeholders — to translate ambiguous requirements into well-engineered solutions, and will be expected to raise the bar through code review, design review, and mentorship of more junior engineers. The successful candidate brings strong engineering discipline, a clear communication style, and a track record of shipping meaningful work that holds up well in production.\nKey Responsibilities\nDesign and develop complex calculated fields, custom reports, and advanced reports using the Workday report writer.\nBuild composite reports, matrix reports, and dashboards supporting business decision-making.\nConfigure and maintain business processes, condition rules, and approval routing across HCM and Finance.\nDevelop Workday Extend applications and PRISM analytics where appropriate, packaging custom logic in supported platform extensions rather than fragile customizations that complicate future upgrades.\nBuild report-as-a-service integrations and support data export needs for downstream systems.\nConfigure security domains, role-based security, and segment-based security across complex tenants.\nPartner with HR, payroll, and finance stakeholders to translate requirements into Workday configurations.\nDevelop and maintain documentation for business processes, calculated fields, and security models.\nSupport Workday tenant refreshes, regression testing cycles, and platform release adoption, validating configuration and reports against expected behavior before each move into production.\nTroubleshoot configuration and report issues in production tenants, working closely with functional teams to isolate root causes, propose remediation, and prevent recurrence through configuration improvements.\nCollaborate closely with integration developers on report-driven data flows, gathering requirements, aligning on technical approach, and ensuring that delivered solutions meet both functional needs and broader engineering and operational standards.\nProvide guidance on Workday best practices and configuration design patterns.\nParticipate in Workday community forums, brainstorms, and product feedback channels, contributing field perspective and bringing back valuable insights and emerging best practices to the broader team.\nStay current with Workday releases and platform innovations, regularly review release notes and community discussions, and translate noteworthy advances into concrete recommendations and adoption proposals for the team.\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.\nFive or more years of Workday technical experience.\nDeep expertise in Workday report writer including advanced and composite reports.\nStrong proficiency with calculated fields across HCM and Finance.\nHands-on experience configuring business processes and condition rules.\nStrong understanding of Workday security framework.\nExperience with PRISM Analytics or Workday Extend.\nFamiliarity with Workday tenant management and release process.\nStrong troubleshooting and analytical skills.\nExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills.\nPreferred Qualifications\nWorkday Pro certifications.\nExperience with Workday Extend application development.\nFamiliarity with PRISM data ingestion and modeling.\nExposure to multi-tenant or multi-region Workday deployments.\nExperience supporting Workday Payroll or Workday Financials.\n\nHow to Apply\nWould you like to know more about this opportunity?
