We have an opportunity for you!Summary: The Material Handler - Shipping picks and processes customer orders and distribution centers accurately and on time.Duties and ResponsibilitiesResponsible for processing customer orders and filling distribution centersCompiles, organizes, and prepares all orders as directed from the Shipping SupervisorOperates a handheld scanner to scan barcodes and delivers materials to their target locationOperates forklift, lift truck, side loaders, pallet trucks, picker and other loading/stacking equipmentResponsible daily inspection of forkliftsPerforms on-spot checkingMaintains and organizes warehouse storage including pallet consolidation and cleanliness of aislesPromote a safe workplace by performing all tasks in a safe and thoughtful manner in compliance with all rules, procedures, instructions, devices, equipment and use of appropriate personal protective equipment. Maintain vigilance for any hazardous conditions or practices in the workplace and immediately report any unsafe condition or practice to your supervisor.Performs other duties as directedCompetenciesOutstanding organization and documentation skillsExcellent attention to detail and accuracyPrioritize and complete a variety of tasks in a timely mannerExcellent verbal and written communication skillsPossesses a strong commitment to team environment while working well with othersSkillsKnowledge of company products in terms of part numbers and product descriptionsWell-versed in warehouse, shipping, and receiving functionsAbility to safely drive a forklift and pickerFamiliar with shipping methods such as Fed Ex, UPS, or freight truckKnowledge of operating lift trucks, side loaders, pallet trucks, and other loading/stacking equipmentSolid understanding of mathematicsProficient in the Warehouse Management SystemWork EnvironmentThe physical environment requires the employee to work in a non-climate controlled warehouse.Frequently required to work at heights of 20 feet or more.Physical DemandsAbility to be punctual and attend work on a regular and consistent basisThe person in this position needs to wear appropriate safety clothing and shoes when needed.
