MB Quality Technician

Job Title: Quality Coordinator Reports to: Quality Assurance Manager Department: Quality Assurance/ Safety Classification: Hourly Non-exempt Wage: $28-$35/ per hour based on knowledge and experience. Hours/Shift: Monday -Friday 8a-4p with the availability to do one 1p-10p shift per week. Position Overview: Under the direct supervision of the FS/QA Manager, the Quality Technician supports and coordinates quality assurance activities while helping to implement and promote a strong, positive food safety culture. Key Coverage: Covers for QA/FS Manager when needed. Primary Responsibilities: Investigation and trending of food safety complaints and escalates to management accordingly. Coordinates employee training Assists in document control and records management Take swabs and samples of products Reviewing of production paperwork Required Qualifications: A minimum of 2 years' experience in Quality Assurance and or Quality control Must Hold PCQI Certification. Previous experience in food Production and Food safety. Must hold HACCP and SQF Certifications or be willing to obtain withing 90 days Ability to work with Microsoft Office Platforms (Word, Outlook, Excel) Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) Preferred Qualifications: Bilingual (English/Spanish) Associate’s degree in related field, or equivalent prior food manufacturing experience Physical Requirements: Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time Ability to walk throughout production facility About Us: Sweetmore Bakeries, headquartered in Chicago, is a growing family of specialty bakeries employing nearly 500 professionals across five locations nationwide.
