Senior Project Manager – Luxury Residential Construction

We work closely with homeowners, architects, designers, engineers, consultants, developers, and high-net-worth clients who expect a professional, organized, and highly communicative construction experience.We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to help lead complex residential projects from pre-construction through completion while elevating the client experience and strengthening our ability to pursue larger, higher-value work.The RoleThe Senior Project Manager will be responsible for project delivery, client communication, budget management, pre-construction support, and coordination between the field, office, leadership, subcontractors, and design teams.This is a senior client-facing role. The right candidate should be equally comfortable leading a client meeting, walking a job-site, reviewing a budget, working through design details with an architect, managing subcontractors, and protecting the financial health of a project.This role is ideal for someone who has strong construction knowledge, polished communication skills, financial discipline, and the ability to earn trust with sophisticated clients and project teams.Key ResponsibilitiesClient Relationship & ExperienceServe as a primary client-facing leader throughout the project lifecycle.Build trust with homeowners, architects, engineers, designers, developers, and owner representatives.Communicate clearly and proactively regarding budget, schedule, decisions, risks, and milestones.Provide a polished, high-touch client experience consistent with luxury residential expectations.Help turn successful projects into repeat business, referrals, and long-term relationships.Project Leadership & ExecutionLead projects from pre-construction through closeout.Own project schedule, scope, documentation, communication, and follow-through.Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, consultants, inspectors, and internal team members.Work closely with the Superintendent to align field execution with schedule, budget, quality, safety, and client expectations.Maintain organized project records, including RFIs, submittals, meeting notes, action items, change orders, schedules, and closeout documentation.Identify risks early and resolve issues before they become larger cost, schedule, or relationship problems.Pre-construction, Sales & Estimating SupportParticipate in early client meetings, site walks, design coordination, budgeting, and feasibility discussions.Support leadership in preparing conceptual budgets, preliminary estimates, scopes of work, and proposal strategies.Provide construction insight during estimating to reduce risk before projects begin.Help translate client goals and design intent into realistic budgets, timelines, and execution plans.Support the company’s ability to win higher-value work through professionalism, technical credibility, and relationship-building.Budgeting, Job Costing & Change ManagementOwn project-level budget discipline in coordination with finance and leadership.Track budget versus actual performance throughout the project.Manage change orders, allowances, contingencies, owner selections, and cost impacts.Review subcontractor scopes, invoices, payment applications, and change requests.Support accurate job costing and timely financial reporting.Protect project margins while maintaining transparency and trust with clients.Team Leadership & CoordinationPartner with operations, finance, field leadership, and ownership to keep projects organized and accountable.Support the Superintendent by removing obstacles, clarifying priorities, and coordinating decisions.Hold subcontractors and vendors accountable to schedule, quality, scope, documentation, and professionalism.Help improve project management systems, reporting standards, and overall execution discipline.Qualifications8–12+ years of construction project management experience.Strong background in high-end residential, custom residential, multi-unit residential, boutique multifamily, or comparable complex construction.Experience managing projects in the $5M–$15M+ range preferred.Proven ability to work directly with sophisticated clients, architects, engineers, consultants, subcontractors, and vendors.Strong understanding of estimating, project budgets, job costing, change orders, contracts, construction sequencing, and scheduling.Experience with construction management software such as Procore, Buildertrend, CoConstruct, or similar platforms.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Bay Area construction experience strongly preferred.Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidate is polished but practical. They can manage a high-expectation client relationship, collaborate with architects and engineers, and still solve real construction problems in the field.They are organized, financially aware, calm under pressure, and highly accountable.
