We'll train you to deliver proven activities and coach you every step of the way!\n\nHow does it work? Every school day you'll see pairs of students for 20 minutes of reading practice. When your time together is up, you'll help your students return to their classroom(s) and pick up your next pair for tutoring. Contact us at 866-859-2825 or join@ampact.us.\n\nCore Responsibilities\nBe a caring adult who's focused on helping students thrive\nLead tutoring sessions and follow a schedule to ensure students receive support\nTrack student progress and meet regularly with the school's onsite coach\nConduct skill assessments and enter student scores into data software\nCommit to your own growth through coaching and training\nShare your experience with the community\nEssential Qualifications\n\nBy the time you begin your service with Reading Corps, you should be: Dependable and have a history of good attendance\nAble to follow instructions and make improvements based on feedback\nProficient in basic computer skills (like email and navigating online)\nFluent in English for speaking, reading, and writing\nBetween 18 and 24 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent\nA citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident of the United States\nA current resident of the state of Maryland\nAble to successfully complete a background check\nPerks Package\n\nSchedule\n\nWe are currently hiring for the 2026-27 school year. Positions run August 2026-June 2027. 35 hours per week (less in weeks with holidays or school release days)\nDaytime hours (corresponding with school start and end times)\nMonday-Friday (no weekends)\nTime off on holidays and school release days\nPay & Benefits\n\nFull-time AmeriCorps members receive a paycheck (stipend) every two weeks. Compensation: $20.17 per hour served and additional perks! Learn more.
