Financial Controller
Position Summary:We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Controller to lead our finance and accounting operations. The Controller will be a key member of the senior management team, responsible for all aspects of financial management, including financial reporting, job cost analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the construction industry and a deep understanding of construction accounting principles.Key Responsibilities:Oversee all financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.Prepare and analyze timely and accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.Manage the job cost accounting system, providing detailed analysis of project profitability and cost variances.Develop and manage the annual budget and periodic financial forecasts.Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local tax regulations and reporting requirements.Maintain and enhance internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data.Provide financial leadership and strategic guidance to the senior management team.Manage banking relationships and assist with credit line and surety bonding requirements.Coordinate and oversee external audits.Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team.Manage WIP schedules and support project managers with cost tracking and forecastingQualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA designation is highly preferred.Minimum of 8 years of progressive accounting experience within the construction industry.Proven expertise in job cost accounting and construction-specific financial management.Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.Experience with construction accounting software (e.g., [mention specific software like Sage 300 CRE, Viewpoint, etc.]).Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.High level of integrity and professional ethics.
