Job Opportunity only available for professionals in Latin AmericaWe’re seeking a Senior Database Engineer/Reliability Engineer to join a sprint-based DBA squad focused on transforming traditional database operations into a reliability-first, self–service–driven platform engineering function. This role is centered on database recoverability, lifecycle management, automation, and data modeling best practices, rather than routine operational or ticket-based support activities.ResponsibilitiesOwn database reliability outcomes: availability, performance, recoverabilityDesign and operationalize data-loss recovery procedures (restore workflows, validation, execution plans)Lead DB fleet lifecycle management (versions, patching, sizing, standards)Improve alerting, observability, incident response, and RCAImplement secure-by-default DB patterns (least privilege, encryption, auditability)Build self-service database capabilities to reduce support burdenPair daily with internal DBAs to model DBRE practices (observational learning)RequirementsAdvanced English level for fluent communication (B2 or higher level)10+ years in DBA / DBRE rolesDeep hands-on experience with AWS RDS / AuroraStrong Postgres and/or MySQL expertiseProven experience executing restores and recovery under pressureComfortable working in agile teams (standups, sprints, shared backlog)Automation-first mindsetGood communication skillsNice to haveKubernetes/EKS familiarityCompliance-heavy environmentsCost-aware DB sizing patternsWhat do we offer100% Remote work.Competitive salary in USD.Type of contract: Independent Contractor with Venon Solutions LLC.2 weeks of PTO (paid time off).Holidays: from the Client's calendar (USA)Working hours: Full-time CST timezone, fully committed.
