We are seeking a detail-oriented Assistant Controller to help scale the finance function during this phase of growth.\nRole Summary\nThe Assistant Controller supports a high-performing accounting function by ensuring accurate financial reporting, delivering insights to Sales and Operations, improving processes through CCS systems (including AI tools), and supporting the integration of acquired businesses. This hands-on role suits someone who thrives in a fast-paced, multi-state environment.\nKey Responsibilities\nFinancial Operations & Reconciliations\nPerform monthly bank and general ledger (GL) account reconciliations.\nMaintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.\nAdminister the corporate credit card program, including expense coding and policy compliance.\nTreasury & Cash Management\nPrepare daily and weekly cash reports.\nSupport treasury activities, including wire transfers and monitoring bank activity across states.\nReporting & Month-End Close\nSupport month-end close to meet deadlines.\nPrepare schedules and workpapers for annual external audits and state/local audits.\nAnalyze variances to support decision-making.\nCompliance & Regulatory\nSupport multi-state tax compliance in partnership with third-party tax providers.\nMaintain and renew business licenses across operating locations.\nEnsure compliance with union collective bargaining agreements (CBAs) related to payroll and benefit allocations, where applicable.\nQualifications\nExperience: 5+ years of progressive accounting experience; facility services, construction, or another multi-location service industry preferred.\nEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.\nSoftware: Workday experience is a plus. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.\nTechnical Skills: Proficiency with mid-to-large tier ERP systems.\nKnowledge: Strong understanding of GAAP.
