This position will be based out of our Fort Worth, TX office. The Controller will oversee key accounting functions, with a strong focus on construction accounting, percentage-of-completion revenue recognition, work-in-progress (WIP) reporting, financial reporting, forecasting, cash flow management, and team leadership.\n\nResponsibilities:\nRevenue Recognition\nApply the Percentage of Completion method to accurately recognize revenue.\nCalculate earned revenue based on actual costs incurred compared to total estimated project costs.\nWork-in-Progress (WIP) Reporting\nPrepare monthly WIP reports for all active projects.\nAnalyze under-billings and over-billings and identify potential cash flow risks.\nEnsure accurate tracking of project costs for WIP reporting.\nCost Tracking\nMonitor project budgets, including actual labor and material expenses.\nIdentify cost overruns and variances early and communicate findings to project managers.\nOversee the tracking of labor, materials, and overhead to ensure accurate project reporting.\nBudgeting & Forecasting\nUpdate Estimates at Completion (EAC) for ongoing projects.\nPrepare and manage annual budgets.\nPartner with project managers to develop realistic project budgets.\nReview project performance and variance reports and provide recommendations as needed.\nFinancial Reporting & Month-End Close\nLead the month-end close process.\nPrepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.\nPrepare monthly income statements, balance sheets, and project-specific financial analyses.\nEnsure financial reporting is accurate, timely, and compliant with company policies.\nInternal Controls & Compliance\nMaintain strong financial controls and accounting procedures across the company.\nEnsure compliance with applicable financial regulations and company accounting policies.\nManage local, state, and federal tax compliance, insurance requirements, and other regulatory requirements.\nCash Flow Management\nMonitor cash flow requirements for current and upcoming projects.\nPrepare and maintain 13-week cash flow and liquidity forecasts.\nCross-Functional Collaboration\nPartner with operations and project managers to review project performance and financial results.\nProvide financial insight and recommendations to support business decisions.\nCollaborate with leadership to improve financial processes and project profitability.\nTeam Leadership\nSupervise and provide direction to Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll staff.\nSupport the development and growth of the accounting team.\nEstablish clear expectations and promote accountability across the accounting function.\nQualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.\nStrong experience in construction accounting, including Percentage of Completion revenue recognition and WIP reporting.\nAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills.\nExperience with construction ERP and accounting software, such as Sage.\nStrong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.\nExperience with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial reporting.\nStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.\nExcellent
