We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Building Engineer to oversee the daily operation, maintenance, and performance of a large corporate office building with multiple high-profile tenants. This individual will serve as a key resource in ensuring a safe, professional, and well-maintained environment for tenants, visitors, and employees. The ideal candidate is a skilled facilities professional who combines strong technical expertise with a proactive, service-oriented approach. They are equally comfortable coordinating vendors, managing building systems, and rolling up their sleeves to diagnose and repair issues when appropriate.\nThe successful candidate is:\nDependable and highly accountable.\nComfortable balancing strategic building oversight with hands-on maintenance work.\nResourceful and capable of solving problems independently.\nProfessional and customer-focused when interacting with executives, tenants, and vendors.\nWilling to do whatever is needed to keep the building operating at a high standard, whether coordinating a major vendor project or personally handling a repair.\nKey Responsibilities Operations & Maintenance\nOversee the day-to-day operation of all building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting, fire/life safety, security, and mechanical systems.\nConduct routine inspections to identify maintenance needs, safety concerns, and opportunities for preventative maintenance.\nRespond promptly to building emergencies and tenant service requests.\nPerform troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance on building equipment and systems when appropriate.\nMaintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance activities, repairs, and service calls.\nVendor & Contractor Management\nCoordinate and supervise third-party vendors, contractors, and service providers.\nObtain quotes, schedule services, and ensure work is completed safely, on time, and within budget.\nMonitor vendor performance and maintain strong working relationships with service partners.\nEnsure all contractors comply with building policies, safety requirements, and applicable regulations.\nTenant Relations\nServe as a primary point of contact for building-related issues and tenant concerns.\nDeliver a high level of customer service while maintaining a professional and positive relationship with occupants.\nPartner with property management to ensure tenant satisfaction and address operational needs.\nPreventive Maintenance & Compliance\nDevelop and execute preventative maintenance programs to maximize equipment reliability and building efficiency.\nEnsure compliance with local building codes, OSHA requirements, fire and life safety regulations, and company policies.\nAssist with inspections, audits, and regulatory requirements as needed.\nSupport energy efficiency initiatives and identify opportunities to improve building performance.\nBuilding Projects\nAssist with capital improvement projects, tenant build-outs, office reconfigurations, and facility upgrades.\nCoordinate project activities with tenants, contractors, and building management to minimize disruption.\nMonitor project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.\nLocation and Schedule This is a full-time, office-based position in a modern, cozy environment in our Auburn Hills office building (Will start in Troy location).\nOur standard working hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, promoting a healthy work-life balance.\nSkills & Qualifications Required:\n5+ years of experience in commercial building operations, facilities management, property management, or a related field.\nStrong working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.\nExperience managing vendors, contractors, and maintenance projects.\nAbility to independently troubleshoot and perform repairs.\nStrong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.\nProficiency with work order systems, maintenance software, and Microsoft Office applications.\nAbility to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical job duties including climbing ladders, walking the property, and working in mechanical spaces.\nPreferred\nTrade school certification or technical training in a related discipline.\nHVAC Certification (EPA/CFC preferred).\nExperience in Class A commercial office buildings.\nKnowledge of building automation systems (BAS).\nExperience supporting multi-tenant office environments.\nWhat We Offer | Career and Culture Company Culture: Inclusive, supportive company culture where you are not a number, but a voice that's heard and brings value.\nGrowth Path: Defined paid training and clear pathways for career development.\nBenefits: Comprehensive benefits package including PTO, sick days, paid volunteer hours, medical, dental, vision insurance, and 401(k).\nTake the first step towards a rewarding career in the mortgage industry with AD Mortgage.\nOur Recruitment team will reach out to you shortly!\nConnect with us : Explore our social media to get a sense of our corporate culture.\nYouTube Instagram TikTok We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company.
