Is that you?\n\nPOSITION SUMMARY:\nThe Image Processing Software Engineer is responsible for developing medical imaging software that supports Gaumard’s patient simulation technology. This role contributes to the advancement of medical imaging simulation training by designing and implementing software solutions for medical image generation, analysis, and visualization across a variety of platforms. The position requires strong C++ programming skills and a commitment to developing high-quality, maintainable code. The Image Processing Software Engineer works collaboratively with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver reliable, innovative software that enhances the realism and effectiveness of simulation-based medical training solutions.\n\nThe requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Does not supervise any other position(s). Frequently exercises discretion. These positions are located in Building 5.\n\nDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\nDevelop prototypes and build next-generation medical simulation software and hardware programs using C++.\nDesign and develop 3D real-time rendering\nEstablish communication with hardware peripherals\nConduct Comprehensive unit testing and profiling\nCollaborates with a cross-functional development team including close collaboration with the engineering group to develop our medical simulation software solutions.\nSupport in the development of the UX design, system software, and robotics controls to aid in the design of user-centric training simulation platforms.\nBe relentless about detail and clean documented code for reusability and easy maintenance.\nDevelop impactful real-world problems with real-time accuracy problematics in a simulated environment.\nBe able to take friendly suggestions in stride. Understand there is always a solution in there that will work for all.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\n\nQUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field with an emphasis on application development\n3 or more years of software development experience\nAdvanced to expert-level skills in C++ programming language\nDemonstrated experience in algorithm development and application of image processing, registration, and segmentation\nWorking knowledge of geometry and application experience\nOpenGL or DirectX, Cg knowledge, and development experience.\nProficiency in C++ development, parallelization, unit testing, and performance measurement\nC++ GUI development experience\nExperience in developing SQLite database application\nMicrosoft Visual Studio development experience\nSolid software engineering foundation and a commitment to writing high-quality code, including clear and understandable design and implementation, well-defined interfaces, ease of build and use & ease of extensibility.\nExcellent communication skills (written and verbal)\n\nQUALIFICATIONS DESIRED:\nMaster’s Degree in Computer Science or related field\nComputer Vision and Image Processing algorithm development experience\nOpenCV, IPP, CUDA experience\nFamiliarity with data formats, such as STL, OBJ, FBX, etc.\nFamiliarity with serial communication protocol, TCP/IP server/client communication protocol\nFamiliarity with software development tools and methodology\nPrevious Medical Imaging Software Development experience is highly desired\n\nPHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:\nHigh energy level, comfortable performing multifaceted projects in conjunction with normal activities.\nShould possess excellent eye-to-hand coordination, and manual dexterity.\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use his/her fingers.\nThe employee frequently is required to talk and hear.\nThe employee is interchangeably required to sit, stand, and walk.\nThe employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.\nAbility to communicate (read and write) effectively in a business environment.\nSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.\nAbility to exercise independent judgment in determining potential strong candidates.\nMust be able to work additional hours as needed.\n\nHours: Monday to Friday 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM must be willing and able to work some Saturdays or stay beyond scheduled shift if needed to meet business demands.\n\nThe above job description supersedes all previous descriptions.
