This role ensures work is completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards while supporting production schedules. The ideal candidate is a strong leader who values safety, quality, continuous improvement, and teamwork.\n__________________________________________________________________\nKey Responsibilities\nSupervise personnel operating abrasive blasting equipment and band saws to prepare steel components for fabrication\nPlan, prioritize, and monitor daily production activities to meet schedule, quality, and productivity objectives\nCoordinate with production planning and inventory personnel to ensure materials are available to support fabrication schedules\nRead and interpret shop drawings, cut lists, and work orders\nInspect parts for quality, surface finish, and dimensional accuracy\nEnsure material identification and traceability are maintained throughout the material processing operation\nEnsure routine preventative maintenance is completed and coordinate repairs when equipment issues arise\nMaintain clean and organized work areas\nFollow and enforce all safety procedures, including proper PPE use and compliance\nTrain and mentor new machine operators\nLead the QES Operating Model (QOM) within the team by conducting daily huddles, maintaining performance boards, engaging employees in problem solving, and driving continuous improvement in safety, quality, efficiency, and delivery.\nAssist other shop operations as needed\n__________________________________________________________________\nQualifications\nStrong organizational skills\nAbility to read and interpret fabrication drawings, bill of materials, and cut lists\nExperience with abrasive blasting and band saw operation\nAbility to safely handle steel material using overhead cranes and forklifts, along with training personnel\n2+ years in a supervisory or leadership role preferred\nExperience leading manufacturing teams and coordinating production schedules preferred\n__________________________________________________________________\nKey Competencies\nExperience operating industrial processing equipment\nForklift and overhead crane experience\nFamiliarity with structural steel fabrication\nStrong communication and problemsolving skills\nCommitment to quality, dimensional accuracy, and material traceability\nBasic equipment troubleshooting skills\nLeadership and training ability\nStrict safety compliance\nAbility to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods\nReliable attendance and a strong work ethic\n__________________________________________________________________\nWe offer a competitive benefits package that includes:\nBenefits\n401(k) with company match\nPaid Time Off (PTO)\nMedical, dental, and vision insurance\nHSA, HRA, and FSA options\nLife and disability insurance\nEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)\nTelehealth and wellness resources\nAdditional voluntary benefit options available\nAbout Quality Electrical Systems\nQuality Electrical Systems is an electrical equipment manufacturer in West Jordan, UT.
