This team builds and scales the core experiences that enable communities to connect and engage in real time. You’ll work across Circle’s Events and Live Pulse surfaces, collaborating closely with product, design, and engineering partners to ship new features, improve existing ones, and raise the bar on performance, reliability, and developer experience in high-traffic, real-time systems.\nWhat you’ll be doing\nDesigning, building, and maintaining full-stack features across Circle’s Live experiences, including video, events, chat, and notifications\nWorking across the stack using Ruby on Rails and React\nCollaborating closely with designers, product managers, and other engineers to ship high-impact product updates\nContributing to performance, reliability, and scalability improvements in real-time systems\nParticipating in code reviews, technical discussions, and architecture decisions\nHelping maintain, evolve, and improve existing features owned by the Live experiences teams\nStrengthening developer experience and system health as these surfaces scale\nWhat you’ll need to be successful\nStrong alignment with our values,\n5+ years experience working as a full-stack engineer on complex web applications.\nProficiency in English (spoken, written, and reading) at a CEFR Level C2 / ILR Level 5\nProfessional experience with Ruby on Rails and React\nA track record of building and shipping features in fast-moving product environments\nComfort working across backend, frontend, and infrastructure as needed\nA collaborative mindset and experience working closely with cross-functional product teams\nBonus points\nHands-on experience scaling production systems and operating reliably under heavy traffic loads\nExperience with real-time or event-driven technologies such as WebRTC, HLS, WebSockets, or Amazon SNS\nFamiliarity with ClickHouse or other event or analytics systems\nPrevious experience building or maintaining live streaming, chat, notifications, or real-time collaboration products\n$130,000 - $140,000 USD per year\nThe cash compensation range shown is a starting point.
