This role provides process control engineering services from conceptual design through commissioning and final installation, ensuring reliable and efficient operation of crushing, milling, flotation, filtering, and supporting plant systems.The position serves as a technical leader for process control strategies, automation systems, and network infrastructure supporting plant operations. Working closely with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and Control Room personnel, the Senior Process Control Engineer drives continuous improvement, develops advanced control solutions, and ensures compliance with safety, operational, and regulatory requirements.POSITION RESPONSIBILITIESSafety & Compliance:Promote and maintain a strong safety culture for employees and contractors.Ensure compliance with MSHA regulations, site safety requirements, and company policies.Support and reinforce safe work practices and operational discipline consistent with company values.Ensure employees and contractors are properly trained and qualified to perform assigned work.Verify compliance with standard operating procedures and safe work practices.Process Control & Automation:Develop, modify, and maintain Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and Human Machine Interface (HMI) applications for concentrator operations.Design and support control systems for crushing, milling, flotation, filtering, and related process areas.Drive alignment between process requirements and control system development.Develop automated tools and solutions that improve operational performance, quality, and productivity.Design equipment control modules and establish control philosophies based on process and operational requirements.Develop advanced process control strategies and algorithms where appropriate.Establish technical standards and implementation guidelines consistent with industry best practices.Systems Architecture & Technology Development:Develop and maintain process control system architecture based on operational and technology requirements.Support installation, configuration, and maintenance of plant networks, wireless systems, and firewalls supporting process control functions.Evaluate emerging technologies and develop technology roadmaps to support future operational requirements.Identify competency gaps and support development of technical capabilities within the organization.Project Management & Engineering Support:Develop cost estimates, scopes of work, and project schedules for capital and expense projects.Provide engineering support throughout project planning, execution, commissioning, and startup activities.Coordinate with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and contractors to ensure successful project delivery.Support troubleshooting, optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives across plant operations.Technical Leadership & Collaboration:Provide technical guidance and support to Control Room Technicians and operational personnel.Serve as a subject matter expert for process control systems and automation technologies.Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to improve plant reliability, efficiency, and performance.Support operational decision-making through technical analysis and problem-solving.Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.POSITION REQUIREMENTSRequired• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mining Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.• Minimum eight (8) years of experience designing, implementing, and supporting industrial control systems within mining or heavy industrial operations.• Minimum eight (8) years of experience with the design and safe installation of process control systems in mining environments.• Strong knowledge of Allen-Bradley PLC platforms, GE control systems, Wonderware, and Wonderware Historian.• Experience programming and supporting PLC, HMI, SCADA, and industrial control systems.• Experience with concentrator processes, including crushing, milling, flotation, and filtration operations.• Strong understanding of industrial networking, wireless communication systems, and cybersecurity fundamentals for process control environments.• Ability to develop process control architectures and automation strategies based on operational requirements.• Ability to develop advanced control algorithms and determine appropriate application of advanced versus conventional control strategies.• Experience developing technical standards, implementation guidelines, and engineering documentation.• Experience developing project cost estimates, scopes of work, and project schedules.• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.• Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.• Valid driver's license or ability to obtain a valid Arizona driver's license.• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL DEMANDS• Combination of office and field-based work in an active mining and
