Temporary Product Development Assistant - Apparel (Johnston & Murphy)
The Ideal CandidateWe are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Temporary Apparel Product Development Assistant to support the Johnston & Murphy Apparel Team. This role will focus on coordinating samples, managing development tracking, and supporting day-to-day operations to ensure seasonal timelines are met. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and comfortable working cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.How You Will Make An ImpactSupport the product development team in executing seasonal timelines from initial development through productionCoordinate sample submissions, tracking, and approvals throughout the development processMaintain and update seasonal development charts and track proto and fit samplesManage sample logistics, including organization, follow-up, and communication with vendorsAssist with preparing for fittings and documenting updates from technical design reviewsCommunicate development updates to internal teams and external partnersSupport fabric, trim, and sample approvals in partnership with cross-functional teamsProvide general administrative and operational support to the product development teamExperience And Skill's You'll Need To HaveBachelor’s degree or relevant experience (coursework or internship experience) in apparel, product development or technical design preferredBasic understanding of garment construction and product lifecycle processes is a plusStrong organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentEffective communication and collaboration skillsProficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with PLM or ERP systems is a plusAdditional DetailsTemporary assignment (duration: 3-6 months)Full-Time hours during assignment periodOpportunity to gain hands-on experience within an established apparel brand.
