Overview:\nThe Design Engineer is responsible for the due diligence investigations as well as preliminary design and engineering analyses of various types of retail, commercial, industrial, and residential site layouts throughout regions where we do business.\nResponsibilities:\nReview municipal zoning and land development ordinances and applicable agency regulations to determine land development limitations for the property.\nPrepare Site Investigation and Due Diligence Reports to include the review of ordinances, utility service research, outside agency regulations and site visits to establish comprehensive development guidelines.\nPrepare Conceptual Site Plans.\nPrepare preliminary Grading Plans and Design.\nDesign of Stormwater Management and Stormwater Conveyance Systems, Utility Systems and Soil Erosion and Sediment Control Design Plans.\nPrepare construction cost estimates.\nProject coordination with client, other consultants and project team for the purpose of preparing a comprehensive site plan application.\nPrepare technical reports including drainage, sanitary sewer and site investigation reports.\nPrepare written correspondence to outside agencies, client, contractor, etc.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nQualifications:\nBachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.\nRelevant Internship experience preferred.\n0-4 years’ experience in Civil Site Engineering (residential, institutional, industrial, and/or commercial site design and permitting experience).\nEngineer-In-Training (EIT) preferred.\nValid driver’s license.\nAbility to maintain and operate personal and/or company vehicle.\nFamiliar with the use of AutoCAD to assist in the production of site plan drawings.\nGeneral knowledge of Truck and Turning & Modeling software.\nGeneral knowledge of the planning and zoning process.\nGeneral knowledge of Hydrologic and Hydraulic and Stormwater Design.\nDesign and drafting capabilities.\nGrading and drainage design skills.\nExperience dealing with regulatory agencies and review professionals.\nGeneral knowledge of the use of available mapping websites for due diligence and site investigation purposes.\nGeneral knowledge of the following design tools for site engineering:\nAutoCAD Civil3D\nHydrology Software i.e. Hydraflow, HydroCAD, PondPack\nHydraulic Software i.e. Hydraflow, StormCAD, Storm and Sanitary Analysis (SSA)\nHEC-RAS\nProficient in the use of Microsoft Software including Word, Excel, Outlook and Project.\nGeneral knowledge of Bluebeam Revu and/or Adobe to prepare design document markups.\nExcellent written and oral communication skills.\nIndependent and critical thinking abilities.\nSelf-starter who can work independently and with team members.\nWhat We Offer: We offer a competitive compensation plan including medical, dental, and vision options, 401k with company match, paid holidays, PTO, tuition reimbursement and more.
