Pushing the boundaries of technology on a mission to change the world for the better from space.\n\nJob Description\n\nWe are seeking a highly engaged mid-level Embedded Software Engineer to join our team. This role offers a fast-paced environment where you will take ownership of feature development and work with minimal supervision on critical projects. We are looking for individuals with strong technical fundamentals in low-level systems programming who are eager to learn our product deeply and play a key role in system integration. This position requires working primarily onsite with some hybrid flexibility.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nDesign and develop embedded software using C/C++ within constrained environments, defining technical approaches.\nImplement state machines and handle asynchronous events (e.g., interrupts, signals).\nWork with operating system concepts including process scheduling, resource sharing, and synchronization.\nIntegrate networking capabilities into embedded devices (basic IP/MAC layer knowledge required).\n\nQualifications\n\nRequired Qualifications:\n\nExperience: 3-5 years of professional experience in embedded systems development\nCore OS Knowledge: Solid understanding of fundamental OS concepts (kernel vs. user space, task scheduling, memory management, and synchronization primitives).\nProgramming Languages: Proficiency in Python, C and/or C++, including object-oriented principles.\nNetworking Basics: Familiarity with networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, MAC addresses, packet inspection tools).\nAutonomy: Demonstrated ability to solve problems independently.\nDocumentation: Proven track record of learning from specification documents and adapting to new protocols or standards.\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\nExperience with containerized Linux user space applications.\nExposure to Yocto or kernel driver development (not mandatory, but beneficial).\nExperience with space networking technologies and standards.\nDoD Secret clearance.\n\nAdditional Information\n\nCompensation: Base salary range is $100,000-135,000/year, depending on qualifications. SEAKR has very rich medical, dental and vision insurance plans, along with a generous 401(k) retirement plan. In addition to base salary, employees are eligible for a year-end bonus.
