This is a 2 years contract, work is 100% onsite from Fremont, CA (Zip 94538) officeTop 3 Skills:Mechanical drafting, GD&T, ASME, ASTM standards knowledgeNX skills and TCE experience is a plusMechanical design industry including semiconductor is a plusDuties:Creates and modifies detailed drawings using CAD hardware and software from sketches, layouts or notes provided by engineering.Contributes design modifications to facilitate manufacturing operation or quality of product.Checks drawing plots versus the project input for correctness and conformance to standards.Works with engineers regarding model accuracy, design, drafting standards and ECN/ECR documentation.May work with system management including file maintenance, backup and storage.The Mechanical Drafter will support the Etch Engineering team by creating and maintaining high‑quality mechanical drawings from 3D CAD models.This role focuses on drafting execution, ECO incorporation, and close collaboration with mechanical design engineers to support new product development and sustaining engineering activities.Key Responsibilities:Create accurate 2D mechanical drawings from 3D CAD models using Siemens NX (UGNX).Update and revise drawings to incorporate Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) in accordance with internal processes.Ensure drawings meet ASME standards, GD&T requirements, and Etch Engineering drafting guidelines.Support mechanical design engineers by translating design intent into manufacturable drawings.Maintain drawing accuracy, revision control, and documentation integrity within PLM systems (Teamcenter/NX).Respond to engineering questions and support escalation and sustaining activities as neededRequired QualificationsExperience as a Mechanical Drafter / Designer in an engineering environment.Hands‑on experience creating drawings from mechanical models.Strong UGNX (Siemens NX) experience preferred; strong CAD oriented candidates will be considered and trained on NX (if needed)Solid understanding of mechanical drafting principles, GD&T, and ASME drawing standards.Experience working with ECO processes and revision‑controlled drawings.Soft Skills & ExpectationsStrong attention to detail and commitment to quality.Ability to manage multiple drawing updates in a fast‑paced environment.Clear communication skills and ability to work effectively with engineers and cross‑functional teams.Willingness to learn Etch‑specific standards, tools, and best practices.Our Client is a Fortune 350 company that engages in the design, manufacturing, marketing, and service of semiconductor processing equipment.
