Our school provides tailored foundational skills in literacy, mathematics, and character development that will equip all of our students for academic and personal success throughout their educational careers and beyond.Job SummaryA Teacher's Assistant with Primary Hall supports the classroom teacher in providing high-quality instruction and maintaining a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment for students. The Teacher's Assistant works closely with the teacher to help implement lesson plans, reinforce academic concepts, and provide additional support to students who may need individualized or small-group assistance. This role helps promote students' academic success while also supporting their social, emotional, and behavioral development. Assists with classroom management, preparation of instructional materials, and supervision of students throughout the school day, including during classroom activities, transitions, lunch, recess, and field trips. The position requires collaboration with teachers and other school staff to ensure that instruction aligns with State and county standards. Additionally, the Teacher Assistant may work with individual students or small groups to reinforce reading, writing, mathematics, and other subject areas, while helping students develop confidence, independence, and effective learning habits.Every effort has been made to ensure there is a complete job description. All employment decisions are based upon qualifications, merit, and business need.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesNoneEssential Job FunctionsActive SupervisionAssist the classroom teacher with implementing daily lesson plans and instructional activities.Provide small-group or one-on-one support to students who need additional help.Support students in developing reading, writing, and math skills.Reinforce classroom lessons and learning objectives.Provide additional supervision of students during classroom activities, transitions, lunch, recess, and field trips.Ensure students follow school rules and safety procedures.Assist with classroom management and maintain a positive learning environment.Upholds a values-based approach to maintain a positive culture among students and staff.Encourage positive behavior and respectful interactions among students.Provide assistance to students with varying academic or behavioral needs.Help students stay focused and engaged during instructional time.Assist in implementation of academic interventions for students that are tailored specifically to their needs to increase student achievement.Assist in implementation of behavioral interventions for students to increase learning time and decrease time spent out of the classroom.Participates and engages in individual coaching meetings, Professional Development, and Summer Professional Development with a positive attitude and growth mindset.Enforce school policies and maintain discipline in accordance with the school's guidelines.Perform administrative tasks as required such as attendance, grades, and reports.Prepare and organize teaching materials, worksheets, and classroom supplies.Assist with bulletin boards, classroom displays, and organization of learning spaces.Communicate observations or concerns about student performance or behavior to the teacher.Support communication between the teacher, students, and school staff as needed.Help maintain a clean and orderly classroom environment.Foster a positive and supportive classroom culture that promotes social and emotional development.Monitor behavior and address any issues that may arise among students.Uphold a high level of professionalism in all interactions with students, staff, and parents.Additional Responsibilities And RequirementsCommitment to, belief in, and alignment with the mission of our school, our school's goals and educational philosophy, and commitment to our students, staff, and families.Strong growth mindset, with a willingness to take personal responsibility, able to internalize and apply feedback with immediacy, dedication to effectiveness and excellence.Communicate well with others and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills with students, parents, colleagues, and community members.Remain calm under pressure.
