The platform team owns a complex set of backend services and the frontend UI that make up the DSP. These services are deployed in a distributed, multi-region, cloud-based infrastructure and use the latest technologies to handle the immensely complicated functionality that is part of any Demand Side Platform (DSP) such as Viant DSP. You will serve as the technical lead working with a team of engineers to oversee the design and implementation of these interconnected services, ensuring that the system evolves to keep pace with the speed, scale and agility that modern day systems are expected to support. You will have the opportunity to mentor team members and contribute towards the success of Viant's products. Primarily supporting Viant DSP, you will collaborate with Product, Engineering and Technical operations teams on spec creation and providing production support.\r\nTHE DAY-TO-DAY\r\nDetermine a long-term technical vision and scope of future projects, while continuously developing and reviewing existing projects.\r\nLead end-to-end product development efforts for Viant DSP's suite of products.\r\nOwn & contribute to major features & areas of the products.\r\nWork closely with cross-functional teams internally as well as customers externally to understand pain points, underserved needs, and identify opportunities.\r\nMentor engineers who thrive working in an innovative, user-focused, fast paced environment.\r\nDrive initiatives to reduce operational load, and build operationally sustainable products.\r\nMUST HAVE\r\nMust have experience in the AdTech domain OR possess strong proficiency in the Go programming language.\r\n12+ years of professional experience in the software industry.\r\nExperience with web services, microservices, or other SOA\r\nRelational database experience, such as MySQL, Postgres, or Oracle, and experience with complex SQL\r\nGREAT TO HAVE\r\nBachelor's degree in Mathematics, Computer Science or related field.\r\nSolid understanding of data structures and algorithms.\r\nKnowledge of modern programming languages, especially Java and Go.\r\nKnowledge of cloud based technologies, especially AWS, Azure or GCP.\r\nHands on experience designing, building and delivering high quality scalable, operationally sustainable software.\r\nAd tech industry experience is a plus.\r\nNoSQL experience is a plus\r\nLIFE AT VIANTInvesting in our employee's professional growth is important to us, but so is investing in their well-being.
