This position offers the opportunity to work alongside architects, engineers, interior designers and planners in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment while contributing to meaningful projects that positively impact communities across the country.\n\nThe ideal candidate will possess a strong technical foundation in structural engineering, a desire to continue growing professionally, and a passion for delivering thoughtful, practical, and innovative design solutions.\n\nQualifications\n\nBachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering.\n\nEngineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required; Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or actively pursuing licensure.\n\nApproximately 3–7 years of experience in structural engineering with a focus on commercial, institutional, healthcare, senior living, educational, or government facilities.\n\nExperience designing structural steel, cast-in-place concrete, precast concrete, masonry, cold-formed metal framing, and wood-framed structures.\n\nWorking knowledge of applicable building codes and industry standards.\n\nExperience with structural analysis and design software such as RAM Structural System, ENERCALC, FloorVibe, StruWare or similar programs.\n\nProficiency in Revit and AutoCAD preferred.\n\nStrong verbal and written communication skills.\n\nAbility to manage multiple assignments while maintaining attention to detail and quality.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nCollaborate with architects, engineers, and project teams to develop efficient, code-compliant, and cost-effective structural solutions.\n\nParticipate in project planning, structural system selection, and preliminary design studies.\n\nPerform structural analysis and design for new construction, additions, renovations, and adaptive reuse projects.\n\nConduct field investigations and evaluations of existing structures to support renovation and rehabilitation efforts.\n\nPrepare structural calculations, technical reports, specifications, and construction documents.\n\nCoordinate structural systems with architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and civil engineering disciplines.\n\nDevelop structural construction documents utilizing Revit and AutoCAD.\n\nUtilize structural analysis and design software to evaluate and verify engineering solutions.\n\nParticipate in construction administration activities, including shop drawing review, responses to RFIs, site observations, and evaluation of proposed changes.\n\nSupport and mentor junior engineering staff while contributing to a collaborative team environment.\n\nDevelop and maintain positive relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders.\n\nStay current with evolving building codes, design technologies, and industry best practices.\n\nWhy SFCS?\nAt SFCS, you will have the opportunity to work on projects that shape communities and improve lives while being part of a collaborative and supportive team.
