NFPC employs a highly skilled and versatile workforce of engineers, trades people and support personnel who specialize in advanced engineering, castings, and precision machining.\nJob Description\nThe Painter is responsible for performing a variety of painting duties, including preparing surfaces, mixing and matching paints, applying paint to surfaces, and ensuring a high-quality finish. The incumbent may work independently or as part of a team, following specific instructions and guidelines to complete painting projects.\nSee more about NFPC at our website:\nhttps://www.navsea.navy.mil/Ho... include but are not limited to:\n\nAbility to blast and produce a surface profile ready for coating; Ability to build up, fair, shape and level suing a variety of knifing and trowel compounds.\nAbility to identify coating materials and match tint and tone.\nApply paint to surfaces using brushes, rollers, or spray guns, ensuring a smooth and even finish.\nUse masking tape and other protective materials to protect surfaces not to be painted.\nAbility to set up pumps and spray equipment.\nFollow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.\nMaintain painting equipment and tools in good working condition.\nComplete painting projects within established timeframes and budgetary constraints.\n\nQualifications Required for the Position\n\nPrevious experience in painting.\nKnowledge of painting techniques, tools, and materials.\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team.\nAttention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.\nStrong communication skills.\nAbility to work from ladders, scaffolds and platforms, and in situations where the surfaces to be coated are in cramped and hard-to-reach places. This requires the ability to stand, stoop, bend, kneel, climb and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions.\nAbility to lift, carry, and set up materials and equipment that weigh up to 10 pounds. Occasionally, may be required to handle materials and equipment that weigh 50 pounds and over.\n\nSecurity Clearance / Background Check required.
