NCIS is the DON component with primary responsibility for criminal investigation, law enforcement (LE), counter-terrorism (CT), counterintelligence (CI), and cyber matters. NCIS not only has primary responsibility for all criminal investigative, CI, CT, and cyber matters within the DON, but it also has exclusive investigative jurisdiction in non-combat matters involving actual, potential, or suspected criminal, terrorism, sabotage, espionage, and subversive activities.\nMEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT\nAs a Network Engineer, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of the IT Technology Development division within the NCIS ITD organization in Quantico, VA.\nProvide technical support and troubleshooting services for incoming service incidents related to computer systems, software, and hardware\nProvide end-user software and hardware troubleshooting, applies diagnostic techniques to identify problems, investigate causes, and implement or recommend solutions\nIdentify recurring issues and notify management of patterns\nTests and analyzes all elements of network facilities\nResponsibilities include providing technical assistance, addressing customer queries, and ensuring a seamless customer experience.\nSpecialists will assess and troubleshoot issues related to company products/services, offer step-by-step guidance, and escalate complex problems to the appropriate department\nMonitors and controls the performance and status of network resources on multiple enclaves utilizing software and hardware tools\nIdentifies and diagnoses problems and factors affecting network performance\nAnalyzes network performance, usage, traffic flows, access, and interfaces\nProvides technical planning and analysis for communication activities including designing, integrating, installing, troubleshooting, repairing, testing, monitoring, reporting, documenting, working with appropriate vendors, and performing preventative maintenance services\nPerforms testing, provisioning, operations and emergency response for ongoing network operations\nOversees and manages the deployment of upgrades to existing data, video, and related systems in a multi-location environment\nEnsures all required operational and support documents are current\nMaintains a current understanding of emerging technologies and trends in online media, cloud service, storage solutions, and other data center technologies\nWHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:\nBring your engineering expertise along with a drive for innovation to GDIT.
