You'll guide guests through their visit from the moment they're seated to the final farewell, creating the kind of memorable interactions that build loyalty and bring people back. We're growing and evolving — and we want team members who are energized by that.\nKey Responsibilities\nGuest Service\nGreet guests warmly, present menus, and guide them through the dining experience with enthusiasm and knowledge\nTake accurate food and beverage orders, communicate dietary needs and preferences to the kitchen\nDeliver food and drinks promptly, checking in to ensure every guest's satisfaction throughout their visit\nAnticipate guest needs before they have to ask — refills, extra napkins, the check at the right moment\nHandle concerns or complaints with empathy and professionalism, escalating when needed\nMenu Knowledge\nDevelop and maintain thorough knowledge of the food and beverage menu, including ingredients, allergens, and preparation methods\nConfidently make recommendations and upsell in a genuine, non-pushy way\nStay up to date on daily specials, menu changes, and promotions\nTeam & Operations\nCollaborate with the kitchen, bar, and floor team to ensure smooth service flow\nAssist with opening and closing side work, including restocking, cleaning, and table resets\nHandle POS transactions accurately, including split checks and special requests\nSupport teammates during high-volume periods — be the person others can count on\nWhat We're Looking For\n1+ year of serving experience in a full-service restaurant (preferred)\nWarm, outgoing personality with a genuine love of hospitality\nAbility to stay composed, organized, and attentive during a busy service\nStrong communication and listening skills\nTABC/FoodHandlers certification or equivalent (or ability to obtain)\nFlexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays\nA team-first attitude and excitement about being part of a restaurant that's growing and evolving\nWhy Brooklyn's Down South\nWe believe great service comes from people who feel valued, supported, and inspired.
