DescriptionJOB TITLE: PurchaserJob SummaryThis role is responsible for maintaining daily purchasing activities using the forecast and MRP. Must have a deep knowledge of manufacturing, inventory and supply chain management.Position Qualifications/RequirementsAt least 1 year of experience as a Purchaser/BuyerAt least 1 year of experience working in inventory and supply chain managementPreferred SkillsProficiency in Microsoft Office and MRP softwarePreferred QuickBooks experienceExcellent foresight and communication skills, both written and verbalStrong critical thinking and negotiation skillsStrong planning and organizational skillsAbility to work independentlyCORE DUTIESMaintain daily purchasing activities using the forecast and MRPSeek and partner with reliable vendors and suppliersDetermine quantity and timing of deliveriesMonitor and forecast upcoming levels of demandManaging supplier relations and negotiating contracts, prices, timelines, etc.Work with suppliers, manufacturers, and internal departmentsStay current with existing and upcoming projects (attend weekly project meetings)Maintain open purchase orders/backorders and ensure accuracyMaintaining the supplier database, purchase records, and related documentationCoordinating with inventory control to determine and manage inventory needsNew item creation in QuickBooksEnsuring that all procured items meet the required quality standards and specificationsWorking to improve purchasing systems and processesBuild and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendorsNegotiate lower pricingSearch and source potential suppliers and vendorsProvide reports for managementCraft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal termsForecast price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier powerPerform cost and scenario analysis and benchmarkingAssess, manage, and mitigate risks of current market/economy trends that may affect demandHOURS1st shift positionMonday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.Overtime as neededSpecial RequirementsCandidates that accept an offer of employment will be required to pass a background and drug screen.
