An individual in this role will work in a world-class collaborative and multi-disciplinary environment.\n\nEssential Functions\n\nMaintains a safe work place and takes responsibility for safety with the goal of zero incidents\n\nPerforms a variety of tasks with a capability to work independently or within a team environment. Completes work assignments with limited levels of supervision.\n\nActs in a dependable manner and uses sound judgement in all activities.\n\nPossesses a high willingness to receive coaching, mentoring and training to continually improve. Conducts training of others as-required in areas of responsibility or specialized knowledge.\n\nPrepares technical insights in a suitable communication method such as reports and presentations with accurate use of company tools, templates and standards\n\nManages data and information in a manner that is consistent with company systems and processes\n\nWorks independently on Projects and leads activities to achieve timely, measurable and relevant outcomes for the company\n\nActively contributes to team discussions and cultivates a positive team environment in all situations\n\nConstruct quality conceptual models of geothermal systems through thorough analysis and interpretation of relevant datasets including but not limited to: geochemistry, surface geology, subsurface geology, well data, drilling data, remote sensing, and geophysics.\n\nPerform geologic mapping and create maps with a focus on structure, alteration, mineralization, geomorphology, and rock-type distribution.\n\nModel subsurface well targets including planning directional wells. Collaborate with drilling engineers, project managers, and drilling operations to plan and execute drilling programs.\n\nResponsible for multiple individual prospect developments from preliminary prospect analysis to reservoir testing. Utilizes basic project management skills to move prospects through phases of development.\n\nStrategizes on exploration and development to maximize value according to company goals. Make clear recommendations considering risk, uncertainty, and upside potential.\n\nMaintain an exploration mindset including the ability to work multiple hypotheses, generate new prospects or concepts, define risk and uncertainty, and evaluate prospect potential consistently.\n\nData mining and management for all information related to geoscience, wells and prospects.\n\nResponsible for multiple operating geothermal reservoirs through ownership of the conceptual model. Work with operations, reservoir engineering, geochemistry and other departments to maximize value in compliance with company values.\n\nAccountable for conceptual model and geoscience inputs to permit packages and business initiatives.\n\nCollaborate with company stakeholders on drilling or exploration projects including Operations, Business Development, Transmission, Compliance, and others.\n\nCollects geochemistry samples for exploration projects as-required\n\nOther Responsibilities\n\nOther duties and projects as assigned by management\n\nEducation, Experience, and Skills Required\n\nMust possess Master of Science or Engineering in a relevant subject. A Doctorate degree in a relevant subject is advantageous.\n\nMust have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in the industry or related fields, generally with 2 – 10 years of experience.\n\nMust have field mapping and structural geology experience.\n\nExperience in geophysical and geochemical surveys and analysis is advantageous.\n\nExperience in Project Management is preferred. Experience under the PMI project management framework is preferred, ideally holding either CAPM or PMP qualification\n\nMust be able to use and acquire knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database and presentation. Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, Power Point and use of the Internet.\n\nProficiency in technical specialist applications including, but not limited to, ArcGIS, ENVI, Global Mapper, Leapfrog and Surfer\n\nMust have strong verbal and written communication skills.\n\nMust be able to read, write and speak English at a level which will permit the employee to accurately understand and communicate information to safely and efficiently perform the job duties.
