Ensure that fire hydrants and valves are in good working order.\nDUTIES: Provide lead Fire Hydrant/Valve Maintenance Technician and Manager with updates on completion of field work.\nPerform day-to-day service and routine maintenance on fire hydrants/valves.\nOperate, Inspect, repair, and maintenance fire hydrants.\nPaint, prep, and install/replace reflective tape to meet service requirements.\nRespond to emergency repairs and investigate leak requests.\nAssist Lead Fire Hydrant Maintenance Technician with replacement of hydrants.\nRebuild, repair, and replace parts for fire hydrants.\nLocate, access, and operate valves in field.\nEnsure all hydrants are installed at grade level.\nInstall hydrant extensions and turn hydrants for new construction.\nProvide assistance and perform functions of the T&D Utility-Person position as needed.\nReport any unauthorized usage of hydrants to Manager/Security department.\nCommunicate with dispatch with service locations in the field daily.\nProvide notifications to dispatch/manager when hydrant is deemed out of service.\nAssist with deployment and maintenance of leak detection devices as needed.\nPerform flushing requirements as required for field work.\nMaintain/Complete daily inspections on company assigned equipment, tools, and vehicle.\nPerform traffic control set-up, maintenance and removal as needed.\nTrain and develop on all field aspects performed by the T&D Department.\nComplete work orders daily using Mobile Work Order System.\nUse ARC GIS system to identify locations of curb stops, valves, and hydrants.\nProvide pictures of hydrant locations when applicable.\nComplete material requisition slips when assigning items out from inventory.\nAdvise Dispatch during service interruption of repairs.\nContact Dispatch/Manager to enter emergency Miss Utility Tickets as needed.\nPrepare and report time sheets daily to Manager.\nCheck emails and provide timely responses to field work when applicable.\nMaintain an open line of communication with Safety department during all field work.\nReport any required vehicle maintenance or repairs to the garage/manager immediately.\nCompleted on-going safety and security training for position.\nRespond to emergency calls received by base operator after hours when applicable.\nLearn, develop, and cross train within all duties of position for advancement opportunities.\nMaintain the cleanliness of shop and equipment on a weekly basis.\nEnsure all equipment and tools are secured properly on vehicle.\nUsing two -way radio to keep connected with base throughout day.\nPerform any and all other appropriate functions as required.\nEDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:\nHigh school education with. Must posses a valid driver's license with a good driving record. Must be 21 years of age with at least one year of driving experience to drive interstate.\nADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:\nRequires a variety of physical activities including, but not limited to climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, standing and walking to assist in replacement of old and damaged hydrants and to paint and repair hydrants. Speaking, hearing, reading and writing are necessary to communicate with other employees, to fill out daily maintenance reports and to take inventory. Minimum normal vision is required to perform all aspects of job. Requires the ability to learn related steps, processes, or elementary methods.\nPHYSICAL EFFORT:\nJob requires ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 35 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.\nWORKING CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT:\nJob requires exposure to outside environmental conditions such as extreme heat and cold along with proximity to moving mechanical parts, vibration, noise, fumes, odors, dusts, and gases.
