About the OpportunityA well-established, private golf and hospitality organization is seeking a Controller to oversee accounting operations and financial reporting. Reporting directly to the CFO, this role is responsible for ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency while supporting leadership with insights and strategic decision-making.This is a highly visible role with ownership over core accounting functions and the opportunity to impact financial processes and overall business performance.What You’ll DoAccounting & Financial OperationsOversee daily accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payrollPrepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAPLead month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timelinessMaintain integrity and quality control over all financial transactions and reportingCompliance & ControlsEnsure compliance with tax regulations and oversee preparation and submission of filingsMaintain and enforce internal controls, policies, and proceduresCollaborate with external auditors and support audit processesFinancial Analysis & Strategic SupportConduct financial analysis and provide insights to support strategic decision-makingCoordinate budgeting processes and provide forecasting to guide financial goalsResearch and resolve technical accounting issuesSupport leadership with financial planning and operational decisionsOperations & CollaborationPartner with internal departments to address billing questions and ensure accuracyCoordinate billing and reporting activities with operations and management teamsIdentify and implement improvements to financial processes and operational efficienciesComplete special projects and additional duties as assignedWhat We’re Looking ForBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field3–5 years of progressive accounting experience (hospitality or club industry preferred)Proven experience in a senior accounting or leadership roleStrong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and compliance requirementsExperience with general ledger management and month-end/year-end close processesStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skillsAdvanced Excel skills and proficiency with accounting softwarePreferred Qualifications7–10+ years of progressive accounting experienceCPA or CMA certification strongly preferredExperience leading accounting teams and overseeing financial operationsExperience with hospitality or club management systems (e.g., Jonas) preferredSkills & AttributesAbility to analyze complex financial data and communicate insights clearlyStrong attention to detail and accuracy in reportingExcellent communication and collaboration skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlinesSelf-starter with the ability to work independentlyStrong organizational and time management skillsAdaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
