We are looking for a motivated Superintendent who is ready to bring strong field leadership, problem-solving skills, and construction expertise to a market with tremendous growth opportunities.If you’re looking for a chance to make a greater impact, lead field operations, and help drive successful projects from start to finish, we’d like to hear from you!What You’ll Do-Manage daily field operations on commercial construction projects.Supervise subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel to ensure work is completed safely, on time, and according to project requirements.Coordinate project schedules, manpower, materials, inspections, and site logistics.Work closely with Project Managers to support project planning, execution, and closeout.Monitor work for quality, safety, productivity, and compliance with plans, specifications, building codes, and company standards.Lead jobsite meetings and maintain clear communication with owners, architects, subcontractors, and internal teams.Identify and resolve field issues, delays, and conflicts in a timely and professional manner.Maintain daily reports, progress updates, site documentation, and project records.Enforce safety policies and promote a strong safety culture on every jobsite.Support successful completion of renovation, repair, facility improvement, and occupied-facility projects.What You Bring to the Table-5+ years of commercial construction superintendent or field leadership experience.Proven ability to manage jobsite operations and lead subcontractors.Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, scheduling, safety, quality control, and field coordination.Experience with commercial renovations, repairs, facility improvements, or occupied-facility projects.Familiarity with IDIQ contracts and/or Job Order Contracting (JOC) preferred.Strong communication, leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills.Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, scopes of work, and project schedules.Willingness to relocate to or regularly work within the Baton Rouge, Louisiana market.Preferred Qualifications-Experience in K-12, higher education, municipal, healthcare, government, or institutional construction.Experience working in JOC, task-order, or fast-paced small-project environments.OSHA 30 certification preferred.Proficiency with construction management software, daily reporting tools, and Microsoft Office.Strong client-facing communication skills.Why Make the Move?Join a respected contractor with more than 40 years of proven success.Be part of a growing Louisiana operation where your leadership directly impacts future growth.Lead diverse commercial construction projects with autonomy and responsibility.Work on meaningful projects for public-sector and institutional clients.Enjoy a competitive compensation and benefits package, including:Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance, 401(k) with Company Match, 3 Weeks Paid Time Off Per Year.Professional Development OpportunitiesWork for a company that values accountability, teamwork, safety, and professional growth.If you’re a Houston-area Superintendent ready for a new challenge and an opportunity to grow your career in Louisiana, we invite you to join the Jamail & Smith team!
