RPG Software Developer

One of our leading client is looking for RPG Software Developer in Windsor Mill MD(4-5 days onsite/Month)Primary responsibilitiesMaintain, modify, and enhance legacy and modern applications in an IBM i environmentDevelop and support programs in RPG Free, RPG III, RPG IV (RPGILE), SQLRPGLE, CL, CLEE, OCL, CMD, and REXXWork with ILE concepts including binding directories, service programs (SRVPGM), and stored proceduresUtilize development tools including SEU, PDM, SDA, RDi (Rational Developer for i), and Visual Studio CodeSupport IBM DB2, DDS, DDL, and IFS database systemsMaintain and modify screen and file definitions using DDS, SDA, UIM, and DSPF36Develop integrations using SQL, Query/400, CGI, JavaScript, JSON, XML, HTML, Node.js, and PHPSupport EDI and X12 standardsAssist with IBM system operations: Navigator for i, PTFs, TCP/IP services, work management, job scheduling, and tape backup processesTroubleshoot system issues and provide production supportProvide general network support to end users as neededWhat we're looking for2+ years of hands-on experience in an IBM i / AS400 environmentDegree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experienceStrong programming background in RPG and CL (RPG Free, RPGIII, RPGILE, SQLRPGLE)Solid knowledge of IBM DB2, DDS, and DDL database structuresExperience with IBM development tools (SEU, PDM, SDA, RDi, ACS)Familiarity with web technologies and integration tools (JavaScript, JSON, XML, HTML, Node.js, PHP)Experience supporting TCP/IP services and IBM i work managementEDI experience, particularly with Cleo, strongly preferredDistribution or wholesale industry background is a plusThe successful candidate will beDetail-oriented and highly organized, with strong task prioritization skillsComfortable working both independently and collaboratively within a teamAble to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical usersDependable, flexible, and solution-focused
