This role serves as a senior local engineering resource, working closely with Maintenance, Production, Quality, and Controls/Automation teams to resolve complex equipment and process issues, improve line reliability, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. The Senior Maintenance Manufacturing Engineer provides technical leadership, mentors junior engineers and technicians, and supports equipment commissioning, upgrades, and optimization activities.\n\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\n\nProvide senior-level engineering support for manufacturing equipment and production processes, including advanced data analysis, test station support, and complex process troubleshooting.\n\nServe as a technical escalation point for maintenance technicians and engineers by providing expert-level guidance during equipment- and process-related issues.\n\nMentor and coach junior engineers, technicians, and cross‑functional team members on equipment performance, troubleshooting methods, and best engineering practices.\n\nLead cross‑functional efforts to identify root causes, implement sustainable corrective actions, and improve equipment uptime, reliability, and process capability.\n\nOwn and oversee production documentation, including drawings, prints, process sheets, work instructions, and revision‑controlled files; ensure accuracy, compliance, and effective distribution.\n\nLead preventive maintenance (PM) strategy development by defining critical inspection points, process checks, and mechanical/equipment tolerances required for long‑term stability.\n\nLead and support equipment commissioning, station verification, and process validation activities during new line startups, upgrades, and recipe or process changes.\n\nAnalyze complex process and equipment failures, including fixture issues, misalignment, sensor interactions, end‑of‑line (EOL) test failures, cycle inconsistencies, and equipment‑induced defects.\n\nCoordinate closely with Controls and Automation Engineers to correlate process failures with PLC logic, sensors, drives, and overall machine behavior.\n\nOversee creation, cleanup, and maintenance of BOM data, equipment records, and technical metadata within the EAM system.\n\nLead structured root‑cause investigations using tools such as 5‑Why, Ishikawa, BDA, and failure mode analysis, and ensure corrective actions are implemented and sustained.\n\nIdentify, recommend, and implement engineering improvements including fixture redesigns, tooling enhancements, alignment corrections, guarding modifications, and procedural updates.\n\nMaintain high standards of documentation control and engineering discipline, ensuring all files and process documents are current, accurate, and accessible.\n\nLead or significantly contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on throughput, defect reduction, cycle‑time improvement, and station repeatability.\n\nParticipate in and support safety reviews, process hazard assessments, and LOTO validation activities as required.\n\nPerform additional duties as assigned.\n\nRequired Skills and Qualifications\n\nBachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Controls Systems Engineering, or equivalent relevant experience.\n\nMinimum of 8 years working as a Manufacturing Engineer supporting equipment performance in a production environment.\n\nDemonstrated experience supporting Siemens‑integrated equipment, 6‑axis robotics, and vision control systems.\n\nExperience in the battery industry or similar environments such as power generation, high‑volume/low‑mix automotive, or medical manufacturing.\n\nAdvanced troubleshooting, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.\n\nProven ability to lead technically, mentor others, and work effectively both independently and within cross‑functional teams.\n\nProficiency in reading and creating mechanical and electrical schematics.\n\nDesired Skills\n\nMaster’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.\n\nSix Sigma certification.\n\nExperience with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).\n\nExperience in lithium battery manufacturing or electrical component manufacturing.\n\nAbility to speak Mandarin.\n\nThis job description is intended to provide a general overview of the position.
