The position is a remote/telework position with frequent on-site meetings at the TSA HQs (Springfield, VA).\r\nRoles/Responsibilities\r\nLead full-stack development across the software lifecycle - from requirements gathering through design, development, testing, and deployment.\r\nArchitect and implement scalable, secure, and maintainable software applications using modern frameworks and technologies.\r\nExperienced with SQL development.\r\nDrive code reviews, enforce coding standards, and mentor mid-level and junior developers.\r\nCollaborate with DevOps teams to streamline CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and automated testing processes.\r\nInterface with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.\r\nEnsure applications adhere to accessibility (e.g., Section 508), cybersecurity (e.g., OWASP Top 10, NIST), and performance standards.\r\nTroubleshoot complex issues in production environments and lead root cause analysis.\r\nEvaluate and integrate new tools, frameworks, and technologies to enhance system performance and development efficiency.\r\nProvide support and mentoring to junior developers and database administrators.\r\nExperienced in Agile Software Development and familiarity with Agile development tools such as GitHub, Jira, and familiarity with Agile SAFe\r\nRequired Skills and Education\r\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred).\r\n5-8+ years of professional software development experience, including leadership or technical lead responsibilities.\r\nJava/Spring MVC and Spring Boot experience are highly preferred.\r\nSingle Sign On (SSO) / session management / complex permissions environments.\r\nDeep understanding of object-oriented programming, data structures, and algorithms.\r\nData engineering skills are also desirable. Specifically \"ETL\" (extract, transform, load) experience.\r\nExperience with frontend technologies (e.g., React, Angular, Vue) and backend platforms (e.g., Node.js, .NET, Spring Boot).\r\nStrong experience with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).\r\nFamiliarity with cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP) and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).\r\nProficiency in Git and modern development workflows (Agile/Scrum).\r\nExcellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make architectural decisions independently.\r\nPreferred Qualifications\r\nActive Security Clearance (Secret or higher) or the ability to obtain one.\r\nExperience working in government, defense, or regulated industries.\r\nCertifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate, or Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD).\r\nFamiliarity with DevSecOps practices and tools like Terraform, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, SonarQube.\r\nExperience integrating with REST APIs, GraphQL, and/or message brokers (e.g., RabbitMQ, Kafka).\r\nPreference for Tier III help desk experience.\r\nSecurity Clearance\r\nBe able to pass DHS suitability screening or DHS financial responsibility standards.\r\nHave or be eligible to receive a DHS Secret security clearance.
