Positions at this level require some specialized knowledge, abilities, skills and experience and often exercise independent judgement in the performance of their duties.\n\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES\n\nResponsible for maintenance, troubleshooting and configuration regarding Servers, VM Hosts, Operating Systems, routers, switches, firewalls, Wireless Access Points, Controllers, VoIP systems and other network related products as required.\n\nProvide second-tier help desk services (i.e. ACL rules, NAT, VLAN, O/S configuration, password resets),\n\nPerform installation, configuration, testing and documentation of systems according to design and specification while utilizing relevant best practices.\n\nTroubleshooting with 3rd party vendors and/or manufacturers based on customer requirements.\n\nProvide pre- and post-sales support as well as implementation and design services.\n\nPerform software and firmware upgrades, remediation of customer issues and alerts, and escalation to other teams as necessary.\n\nProvide input towards the ongoing development of customer network infrastructure for delivery of data, voice and other technology services.\n\nIndividual ticket management and communication with customers and scheduling of activities.\n\nEnsuring individual SLAs are met.\n\nCollaborate with team members to define, analyze, design and deliver appropriate technical solutions to meet customer business objectives.\n\nMentor junior Network Engineering staff.\n\nAttend technology events as required.\n\nParticipate in team meetings and training.\n\nOther special projects and duties as assigned by Manager.\n\nKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES\n\nWindows Server Environments – Active Directory User/Computer Management, Group Policy Objects, Security Policy implementation, and troubleshooting Windows Environment issues.\n\nNetwork Infrastructure – Firewalls, Switches (including VLANs), Routing, and ability to troubleshoot network devices.\n\nMicrosoft 365 – User/Device Management and Administration, User/Device Onboarding, Security Configuration of M365 Services/Applications, and troubleshooting M365 issues.\n\nAdvanced experience and knowledge in Virtualization, Routing, M365 migrations, VoIP and Enterprise wireless are a plus.\n\nFamiliarity with common business metrics that drive business success.\n\nSelf-motivated and results driven with strong organizational skills.\n\nStrong verbal and written communication skills and ability to effectively present information using a consultative approach.\n\nAbility to travel regularly to customer locations.\n\nSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES AND INTERACTIONS WITH OTHERS\nThis position has no supervisory responsibilities. The Tier 2 Network Engineer interacts frequently with various internal team members to coordinate client success.\n\nEDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE\n\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, related field, or work experience.\n\n3-5 years’ experience as a Networking Engineer\n\nThe following certifications, or other job experience may be substituted in lieu of degree/experience.\n\nCisco CCNA/CCNP\n\nVMWare VCP/VCAP/VCDX\n\nMicrosoft MCSE/MCSA/MCSD\n\nExtreme EDS/ECS\n\nCompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Server+\n\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS\nPhysical Task\nPhysical Requirements\n% of Work Time\nSitting/Standing\n\nMust be able to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time.\n\nUp to 60%\n\nLifting/Carrying\n\nOccasionally loads and sets up hardware, moves up to 50 pounds of equipment.\n\nUp to 10%\n\nHandling/Grasping/Feeling\n\nMust be able to operate phone and computer and other work products and to interact with others.\n\nUp to 100%\n\nSeeing\n\nMust have visual acuity to perform tasks on computer, service staff, resolve issues and present information to current and prospective customers.\n\nUp to 100%\n\nTalking/Hearing\n\nFrequently communicates with customers, vendors and internal team members to present information, troubleshoot issues and respond to questions.\n\nUp to 100%\n\nWorking Conditions\nNormal working conditions in an office environment absent extreme factors.
