Ensures compliance with all IES and Site/Customer safety policies and procedure, as well as Federal and State Standards. Develops and manages Safety/Health initiatives aimed at preventing and eliminating occupational incidents, injuries and illnesses. EMT or higher credentials strongly preferred.\n\nJob Duties and Responsibilities:\n\n1. Fully support all IES and Site/Customer safety policies, procedures and programs and Federal and State Standards.\n\n2. Ensure implementation and compliance with IES Safety Policies, Procedures and Programs within the Communications Division and Site/Customer Site Specific Policies, Procedures and Programs.\n\n3. Perform safety presentations and develop safety presentations and related training as required.\n\n4. Schedule and perform documented jobsite safety audits/inspections to determine compliance with all IES and Site/Customer safety policies, procedures and programs and federal, state safety standards.\n\n5. Oversee and maintain activities involving confined space entry; along with any documentation or training requirements required.\n\n6. Conduct or direct activities aimed at identifying potential hazards and develop safety action plans to correct any non-compliance issues and work with operations and management for implementation.\n\n7. Develop processes and plans to reduce or eliminate hazards and safety incidents.\n\n8. Deliver safety new employee orientation (NEO), OSHA 10/30 hour and other safety training as needed &/or required by IES, Site/Customer, OSHA, state or local safety standards.\n\n9. Deliver and coordinate safety training for management and field personnel in accident prevention techniques, compliance with IES safety policies, procedures and programs and federal and state standards.\n\n10. As needed, prepare written reports and summaries to provide concise, meaningful information regarding safety audits, investigations and issues.\n\n11. Conduct and coordinate root cause investigations on recordable incidents, near misses and vehicle incidents.\n\n12. Utilize the root cause analysis to help operations identify and implement corrective actions to help prevent future reoccurrence of similar incidents.\n\n13. Participate in and take the lead in any OSHA inspection process as defined in the IES Safety Manual Section 18 and effectively communicate with project stakeholders.\n\n14. Prepare and maintain safety related records and reports.\n\n15. Teach, counsel and mentor all stakeholders to uphold the IES Safety Culture.\n\n16. Coordinate Activities with and support site management.\n\n17. Other responsibilities as assigned.\n\nMin\n\nUSD $35.00/Hr.\n\nMax\n\nUSD $45.00/Hr.\n\nQualifications\nPhysical and Mental Requirements:\n\nMust be self-motivated, positive in approach, professional and lead others to create, develop and implement project process improvement(s).\n\nMust promote Company culture and mission to all employees, vendors, clients and business partners.\n\nMust be able to act as the Company liaison for interface with customer, vendor, contractor, and IES representative(s).\n\nMust possess proven problem solving and critical thinking skills and the ability to effectively read, write and give oral presentation(s).\n\nMust be able to travel within the branch territory and/or regional territory as needed.\n\nMust possess the manual dexterity, flexibility and visual acuity to perform inspection functions requiring walking, climbing, squatting, lifting, bending, twisting, etc.\n\nMust be able to lift 50 lbs. and distinguish all applicable codes, colors and symbols correctly.\n\nMaintaining body equilibrium and agility to prevent falling when walking, standing, crouching, ascending or descending stairs.\n\nBending the body at the waist, the legs at the knees, and extending arms and hands in any direction in a repetitive manner.\n\nMust possess the ability to learn the Company and customer computer systems.\n\nRegular and reliable job attendance required.\n\nEducation, Certification, License, and Skill Requirements:\n\nMust possess at least a High School diploma or GED equivalency; Associate degree or higher preferred.\n\nEMT or higher credentials preferred\n\nMust possess a minimum of five (3) years’ experience in construction safety, preferably in the telecommunications or electrical industry.\n\nKnowledge of the OSHA 29 CFR 1926 Safety and Health Regulations for Construction.\n\nKnowledge and experience with the Confined Space Entry Standards 1926.1200 Subpart AA preferred.\n\nCurrent status as an Authorized OSHA OTI 500 Construction Outreach Trainer\n\nCHST (Construction Health/Safety Technician) Certification or equivalent preferred\n\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills\n\nProficient computer knowledge and experience utilizing MS Office (WORD, EXCEL, PowerPoint & Outlook)\n\nMust be detail-oriented with high level organizational skills\n\nAbility to communicate effectively with project stakeholders including field personnel, IES management and customer interfaces\n\nAbility to respond as needed in support of all safety emergency situations with or without advance notice.\n\nMust meet Company minimum driving standards.\n\nMust have proven ability to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.\n\nMinimum Education\nHigh School\n\nOverview\nIES is a national provider of industrial products and infrastructure services to a variety of end markets, including electrical, mechanical and communications contracting solutions for the commercial, industrial, residential and renewable energy markets.
