Job title: Purchasing Clerk.Location: West Chicago, IL - 60185Client: Door Manufacturing IndustryDuration: 3 Months (Temporary to Direct)Shift: 8.00 AM to 5.00 PMPay Rate: $20 per hour on w2Prefer knowledge of ERP systems, purchasing equipment/parts and negotiating pricingRequiredThe Purchasing Clerk purchases West Chicago Facility items on a daily basis and ensuring its delivery in a timely manner. This position reports into the Specialty Tooling department and liaises frequently with multiple departments and suppliers.• Analyzes reports for on hand product quantities and actively involved in inventory counts• Tracks shipments through various web sites and creates excel spreadsheet of deliveries on Share Point site.• Generates purchase orders for all site employee requests• Make sure appropriate account codes are entered on purchase requests• Maintains compliance with levels of authority for purchase requestors• Contacts all suppliers with purchase orders and secures delivery dates• Service purchase orders need proof of insurance, proof of safety record and contractor safety contract completed.• Sets up new suppliers through Corporate Account submitting appropriate paperwork• Advises suppliers of discrepancies and rectify• Print appropriate reports to identify outstanding purchasing orders and pending status purchasing orders to avoid missed shipments• Confirms order arrival eta's to plan appropriately• Costs quoting and purchasing for special order materials for West Chicago employees• Works with suppliers to advise of invoice submittals• Works with corporate Account to advise on invoice questions• Check payment status when requested• Assigns account codes to UPS/FedEx shipments• Assigns account codes to Intercompany freight shipments• Assists with non-PO processing system• Coordinates/manages outside service activities office and general areas• Knowledge in home building products preferred but not required• Strong ability to manage multiple priorities and manage time efficiently• Great organizational skillsAdditional Job Requirement• Excellent MC Office knowledge and experienced• Strong communicator, verbal and written• Excellent skills in ERP systems (Masterpack, Mainsaver, Microsoft AX)• Candidates with two years hands-on experience in a strong Customer Service oriented environment.• Preferred 2 - 4 years in a purchasing role in a manufacturing environment.• Familiar with a variety of the fields' concepts, practices, and procedures.• Strong interpersonal skills and problem resolution are critical to success.• Must command good reading, writing, computational, analytical and listening skills.• Independent work required and team orientated.• Must be computer literate and have knowledge of current software applications utilized for controlling inventory and planning functions.• Must be sensitive and adaptable to internal and external customer demands.
