An Apprentice provides and receives on-the-job training, specific day-to-day directions, and crew supervision.\nDuties and Responsibilities Include\nEssential Duties:\nIdentifies due diligence and assessment of tree failure risk\nPerforms tree pruning, tree removal, brush chipping, and stump grinding\nUses climbing hooks, belts, ropes, and ladders\nOperates and services equipment and tools such as hydraulic tools, power tools, buckets, chippers, and sprayers\nCuts away dead and excess branches from trees\nSprays to treat diseased or unhealthy trees, including mixing chemicals and calibrating spray equipment\nAssists with providing training to other trimmers\nDuties and responsibilities may change with or without notice\nWhat You'll Bring to the Team\nUnderstands occupational hazards and safety precautions\nMust be semi-skilled in mechanics\nMust be able to complete a proficiency test consisting of climbing, knot tying, and chainsaw maintenance\nExperience with a tree care/maintenance program, including but not limited to\nOperation of stump grinders, chippers, chipper trucks, bucket trucks, and other tree-related equipment\nValid driver's license with an acceptable driving record per Company requirements\nMay be required to pass a DOT physical examination to obtain the appropriate CDL\nKnowledge of essential job functions and responsibilities\nAttention to detail\nOrganizational skills\nStrong oral and written communication skills\nAbility to problem solve\nMeet all physical requirements of the position\nPass all drug and alcohol screens as required by Company policy and, if applicable, required by DOT regulations\n18 years of age or older, or 21 if CDL is required\nLegally authorized to work in the United States\nPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive list of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
