You will serve as a trusted advisor to clients and internal teams, ensuring technical excellence while influencing project strategy, mentoring staff, and contributing to the growth of RETTEW’s transportation practice.\n\nResponsibilities / Day‑to‑Day\n\nServe as a technical lead on traffic engineering projects, providing direction, oversight, and quality control\n\nLead traffic impact studies, signal design, corridor studies, and safety evaluations\n\nAnalyze complex transportation challenges and develop innovative, data‑driven solutions\n\nOversee preparation and review of plans, specifications, and technical reports for accuracy and compliance\n\nCoordinate with PennDOT, municipalities, MPOs, and other stakeholders to advance projects and secure approvals\n\nSupport and contribute to proposals, scopes, and budgets, helping position RETTEW for continued growth\n\nMentor and develop junior engineers and technical staff, fostering technical excellence and career progression\n\nStay current with evolving standards and best practices, including MUTCD, AASHTO, and PennDOT requirements\n\nQualifications\nRequired\n\nBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field\n\nProfessional Engineer (PE) license in Pennsylvania, or ability to obtain\n\n8+ years of progressive experience in traffic engineering or transportation design\n\nDemonstrated experience serving as a technical lead or senior project contributor\n\nProficiency in traffic analysis and modeling tools such as Synchro, HCS, or VISSIM\n\nStrong communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills\n\nPreferred\n\nPTOE certification\n\nExperience with PennDOT ECMS and project delivery processes\n\nExperience mentoring, coaching, or supervising technical staff\n\nInvolvement in client development, proposal support, or business development\n\nWhat We Offer\n\nCompetitive salary based on experience.
