This new role replaces our current Aftermarket Defense Account Manager role that includes outside sales responsibilities.Essential ResponsibilitiesRespond to customer inquiries regarding products, pricing, contracts, and availabilityPrepare and submit quotes, proposals, and bid documentation in accordance with government requirementsNegotiate price and terms and secure purchased orders on quoted opportunitiesFollow up on open quotes, bids, and contract opportunities to maximize sales conversionAssist in sales forecasting activities to support budget planning and financial reportingObtain target pricing and insight into competitors to bolster margins on competitive and sole sourced aftermarket business opportunitiesForge effective working relationships with sales, engineering, quality and operations in the business to successfully champion customer interestsDevelop and maintain relationships with government customers and distributorsGenerate new business opportunities through outbound calls, emails, and lead follow-upMaintain knowledge of government purchasing processes, contracts, and procurement regulationsTrack sales activities, opportunities, and customer interactionsCoordinate with operations, purchasing, and logistics teams to ensure accurate order fulfillmentMaintain current knowledge of company products, services, and competitive offeringsAssist with contract renewals and ongoing account activitiesMeet or exceed established sales goals and performance metricsProduce effective verbal and written communicationEffectively utilize ERP and CRM systems as well as basic business software programs (Excel, Word, Power Point, etc.)Position RequirementsAssociate or bachelor's degree preferred5+ years' experience in customer service/inside sales in the aerospace/defense industryAftermarket experience is preferredUnderstanding of the US FARs/DFAR's and solicitation processesProfessional presentation and communication skillsThe initiative and ability to develop, implement, and achieve ambitious performance goalsExcellent interpersonal skills, capability to work with ITT's diverse and global employee base including the ability to motivate, energize, and enhance the performance of teammatesAbility to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environmentCustomer focused attitude the ability to be flexible and adaptive to support accounts in whatever ways may be required to bolster partnershipsStrong organizational skills and attention to detailKnowledge of government procurement processes is a plusThis position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
