This role will be responsible for designing scalable data solutions while ensuring operational excellence, security, and cost optimization across the Snowflake platform.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nSnowflake Platform Administration:\n\nAdminister and support enterprise Snowflake environments across development, testing, and production.\n\nManage Snowflake account setup, user provisioning, roles, permissions, and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC).\n\nImplement and maintain security controls including SSO, MFA, dynamic data masking, row-level security, and secure data sharing.\n\nConfigure and monitor resource monitors, virtual warehouses, and workload management to optimize platform performance and cost.\n\nDesign and manage cross-region replication, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions.\n\nMonitor platform health, troubleshoot issues, and provide proactive recommendations for improvement.\n\nData Engineering:\n\nDesign, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using AWS Glue and Snowflake.\n\nBuild and optimize data ingestion frameworks from multiple cloud and on-premises data sources.\n\nDevelop data models, transformations, and data warehouse solutions to support analytics and reporting.\n\nLeverage Snowflake features including Snowpipe, Streams, Tasks, Stored Procedures, Time Travel, and Zero-Copy Cloning.\n\nImplement data quality, validation, and monitoring processes.\n\nPerformance & Cost Optimization:\n\nAnalyze query performance and optimize Snowflake workloads.\n\nMonitor warehouse utilization and implement strategies to reduce operational costs.\n\nTune data pipelines, SQL queries, and storage utilization for maximum efficiency.\n\nEstablish platform standards, governance policies, and best practices.\n\nAutomation & DevOps:\n\nDevelop CI/CD pipelines for Snowflake deployments and data engineering solutions.\n\nAutomate administrative and operational activities using Python, SnowSQL, and scripting frameworks.\n\nSupport Infrastructure as Code (IaC) initiatives using Terraform or similar technologies.\n\nRequired Qualifications:\n\n8+ years of IT experience with at least 4+ years of hands-on Snowflake experience.\n\nStrong expertise in Snowflake administration and platform management.\n\nHands-on experience with AWS Glue and cloud-based data engineering solutions.\n\nAdvanced proficiency in SQL and Python.\n\nExperience managing:\n\nRBAC and security frameworks\n\nSnowflake account administration\n\nData replication and disaster recovery\n\nData masking and governance controls\n\nStrong understanding of Snowflake architecture, virtual warehouses, storage, compute, and optimization techniques.\n\nExperience with AWS services such as S3, IAM, CloudWatch, Lambda, and Secrets Manager.\n\nStrong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills.\n\nPreferred Skills:\n\nExperience with Apache Airflow for orchestration.\n\nKnowledge of Snowpark, Snowpipe, Data Sharing, and Native Applications.\n\nExperience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.\n\nExperience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or Azure DevOps.\n\nSnowflake certifications such as:\n\nSnowPro Core Certification\n\nSnowPro Advanced Architect\n\nSnowPro Advanced Data Engineer\n\nExperience with data governance, compliance, and enterprise security frameworks.\n\nKey Attributes:\n\nStrong platform ownership and operational mindset.\n\nAbility to lead Snowflake architecture and administration best practices.\n\nExcellent stakeholder management and communication skills.\n\nProven ability to work across engineering, analytics, and business teams.\n\nProactive approach to performance tuning, automation, and cost optimization.\n\nAbility to mentor junior engineers and drive technical excellence.\n\nMust have skills:\n\nSnowflake Administration\n\nSnowflake Data Engineering\n\nAWS Glue\n\nSQL\n\nPython\n\nNice to have:\n\nAWS Lambda\n\nApache Airflow\n\nTerraform\n\nCI/CD Pipelines\n\nSnowpark\n\nData Governance & Security Controls\n\nThe pay range that the employer in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is $36.98/hour - $57.79/hour.
