The Material Handler is the first person to start the process in making product for our customers. This team member will need to be able to work independent and with others in a team environment. The Material Handler is responsible for the handling of raw materials, and able to conduct preventive maintenance on dryers, loading systems and material grinders.\n\nWorkdays:\nMonday-Thursday\n\nHours: Monday-11am-6pm, Tuesday-Thursday: 6am-6pm\n\nPay: $17/$18 D.O.E.\n\nWorking 42hrs a week and 3 days off weekends.\n\nEssential Functions:\n1. Raw Material Understanding:\na. Understand the different plastics:\ni. Understand plastic types – Plastics used at Dalworth Technologies\n\nii. Understand the difference between amorphous and crystalline\n\niii. Melt and dryer temperatures\n\niv. Material data sheets\n\nv. Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)\n\nvi. Understand material contamination and preventive measures\n\nb. Understand the basics of material drying and dryer systems\n\ni. What are the drying temps for Dalworth Tech plastics used on a day-to-day basis\n\nii. What are typical drying times\n\niii. Describe over drying conditions, what you expect to see.\n\niv. Understand the dryer system and how material is dried\n\nv. Demonstrate the ability to clean a dryer thoroughly\n\nvi. Understand the operation of dryer and hopper systems\n\nvii. Understand material contamination and the effects of contaminated material\n\nviii. Understand color concentrate, how it is used, let down ratios, specifications\n\nc. Understand material grinders and use of material regrind\n\ni. Understand material grinders used at Dalworth Technologies\n\nii. Demonstrate the ability to remove and install grinder blades\n\niii. Demonstrate to ability to determine when grinder blades need to be sharpened\n\niv. Demonstrate the ability to change material types in grinders\n\nv. Understand the effects of regrind in the plastic process\n\nvi. Determine what can be placed in material grinders\n\nvii. Understand the quantity and when to use regrind\n\nviii. Understand the throughput of grinders – material per hour\n\nd. Area of Responsibilities\n\ni. Inventory of all plastic raw materials and concentrate\n\nii. Ensure dryers are filled with the correct material as per the Production Worksheet\n\niii. Ensure dryers are in place and ready to be used at machine\n\niv. Calculate the correct dryer size for the product being ran\n\nv. Ensure dryers are full during production, unless situation is specified\n\nvi. Weigh and mix concentrate and regrind (when required) correctly\n\nvii. Organization and cleanliness of work areas including warehouse\n\nviii. Track resin and concentrate usage – including material inventory\n\nix. Clean dryers, loader hoppers and work area during product change\n\nx. Ensure equipment is in working order and functioning properly\n\nxi. Store regrind and all materials to be ground up (runners and rejects).\n\n2. Work in a production atmosphere\n\na. Work in a team environment\n\nb. Eager to learn new skills in plastic molding\n\nc. Willing to communicate when problems happen\n\nd. Willing to clean, organize and put equipment and tools away\n\ne. Keep equipment and work areas organized\n\nf. Determine material requirements for upcoming production runs\n\nKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:\n1. Ability to read, write, speak and understand English fluently.\n\n2. Good basic math skills\n\n3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.\n\n4. Ability to meet or exceed the company’s attendance and punctuality standards.\n\n5 Ability to evaluate objectively, fairly, and consistently.\n\n6. Ability to understand and follow directions as given.\n\n7. Ability to work with minimal supervision.\n\n8. Operate forklift safely\n\n9. Conduct any other tasks as needed within scope of the support group responsibilities.\n\nPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:\n1. Color vision\n\n2. Hearing\n\n3. Ability to lift minimum 55 pounds over your head.\n\n4. Ability to climb ladder and step ladder.\n\n5.
