Working on the swing shift, this individual will perform in-process and final inspections, operate and troubleshoot coordinate measuring equipment (CMM), interpret engineering drawings and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) callouts, and actively support continuous improvement initiatives on the production floor.\nEssential Skills:\nInspection & Measurement\nPerform first article, in-process, and final inspections on plastic molded and fabricated components per customer and internal specifications\nInterpret and verify dimensions, tolerances, and feature callouts from customer engineering prints and drawings\nApply Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) principles to evaluate part conformance including form, fit, and function\nOperate, program, and troubleshoot the Zeiss CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) to perform dimensional inspections\nPerform routine calibration checks and preventive maintenance on CMM and other measurement tools\nUse hand measurement tools including micrometers, calipers, height gauges, optical comparators, and gauges\nDocumentation & Reporting\nRecord inspection data accurately in quality management systems, control charts, and inspection reports\nGenerate nonconformance reports (NCRs) and initiate disposition of rejected or suspect material\nMaintain and update inspection records, COAs, and supporting quality documentation\nAssist in preparation of First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) and PPAP documentation as required\nProduction Floor Support\nCommunicate inspection findings and quality concerns to production supervisors and operators in a timely manner\nSupport root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) activities\nParticipate in customer audits, internal audits, and third-party quality audits\nAssist in training production personnel on quality standards and inspection techniques\nIdentify process trends and escalate recurring defects to the QC Supervisor\nQualifications:\nHigh school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree or technical certification in Quality, Manufacturing, or related field preferred\nMinimum 2–4 years of quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably plastics (injection molding, blow molding, extrusion, or thermoforming)\nDemonstrated ability to read, interpret, and inspect to customer engineering prints and technical drawings\nStrong working knowledge of GD&T per ASME Y14.5 standards\nHands-on experience operating and troubleshooting Zeiss CMM equipment (CALYPSO)\nProficiency with precision hand measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, CMM, comparators, pin gauges, etc.)\nFamiliarity with quality management systems (ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or equivalent)\nAbility to work the swing shift schedule, including occasional overtime as production demands require\nPreferred Qualifications:\nASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) or Certified Quality Technician (CQT) certification\nExperience with PPAP, APQP, SPC, and FMEA methodologies\nBackground in plastic manufacturing processes (injection molding, extrusion, insert molding, etc.)\nFamiliarity with ERP/MES systems and electronic quality record management\nExperience supporting customer and third-party audits\nCompensation / Benefits\n· Competitive Salary, 401k\n· Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance for all Full Time employees\nOther:\nPhysical Requirements:\nAbility to stand, walk, and be on the production floor for the majority of the shift\nOccasionally lift and carry parts or equipment weighing up to 35 lbs\nVisual acuity sufficient to perform close-tolerance inspection work\nAbility to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, plastics, and related materials\nManual dexterity to operate precision measuring instruments\nPLEASE NOTE RELOCATION PACKAGE/ASSISTANCE IS NOT AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME\nNOTE: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
