Document Control SpecialistThe Document Control Specialist is responsible for ensuring the accurate handling, organization, and distribution of essential documents and data critical to company operations. Working under the leadership of the Document Control Manager, this role supports efficient project execution and compliance with established procedures while contributing to continuous process improvement initiatives.Key ResponsibilitiesProject Setup and Document Management:Assist in setting up projects in Trimble Connect and Tekla Powerfab.Download and organize contract drawings and documents on the company network and Trimble Connect projects.Ensure accurate distribution of contract and detailing drawings, including drawings out for approval, back from approval, and for construction.Data Import and Release Management:Import detailing releases into Tekla Powerfab, ensuring data integrity.Correct import file errors in collaboration with detailers.Process and release finalized construction releases to the Purchasing Department.Revision Processing:Summarize and process revisions for previously released construction projects.Ensure consistent documentation of changes and updates.Material Data Oversight:Perform tasks such as flipping flatbar and plate materials to meet operational constraints.Monitor and maintain data consistency within Tekla Powerfab.Collaboration and Communication:Maintain clear and proactive communication with internal and external teams, including the fabrication shops, detailers, and client's teams.Support the Document Control Manager in identifying process improvement opportunities.Key QualificationsEducation and Experience:High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in technical fields or business administration is a plus.Minimum 1-2 years of experience in document control, data management, or related fields, preferably in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.Skills and Competencies:Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.Ability to read and understand fabrication drawings.Proficiency in software tools including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, and OneDrive.Familiarity with Tekla Powerfab, Trimble Connect, or similar systems is preferred.Other Requirements:Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability.Performance Metrics (KPIs)Timeliness and accuracy of project setups and document distribution.Efficiency in processing and releasing construction data to the appropriate departments.Accuracy in revision management and material data updates.Contribution to the consistency and reliability of Tekla Powerfab data.Responsiveness and communication effectiveness with internal teams.Equal Opportunity EmployerAll qualified applicants are encouraged to apply.Met-Con, Inc. is a Drug Free Workplace where post-offer applicants and employees are subject to testing for marijuana, cocaine, opioids, amphetamines, PCP, and alcohol when criteria is met as outlined in our policies.Met-Con, Inc. is a participant in the Federal E-Verify Program
