Who knows where our shared journey will take you?\n\nTransform the everyday with us!\n\nAs an intern with the Electrification and Automation (EA) division of Siemens Smart Infrastructure, you’ll gain hands-on experience supporting power distribution systems that keep the world running today, while also being exposed to our Future Grids technologies that are shaping the power systems of tomorrow - all within a collaborative, impact-driven environment.\n\nWe are seeking qualified candidates to join our Research & Development Simulation Engineering Internship in May or June 2027. This position will be based at our Raleigh, North Carolina office location.\n\nYou’ll make an impact by:\nSupporting geometry simplification of standard mechanical assemblies to improve simulation performance and turnaround time.\nSimplifying and preparing 3D designs in NX for use in simulation workflows.\nSupporting mechanical design activities within NX to enable simulation and analysis efforts.\nCollaborating with sensor simulation engineers to support simulation requests and design updates.\nAssisting with organization and documentation of simulation-ready models and design files.\n\nYou’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:\nBasic Qualifications:\nCurrently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.\nExperience with 3D modeling tools. (ie, Creo, NX, Solidworks, etc.)\nAbility to work on-site full-time (40 hours per week) for the duration of the 12-week summer internship.\nEligible candidates must be located within 50 miles of Wendell, NC, as this role does not provide relocation support.\nLegally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.\nThis internship is a structured experiential learning program for individuals currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program who will continue their studies following the assignment. Current and continuing enrollment is a condition of participation. Applicants who have completed or expect to complete their educational program before or during the assignment period are encouraged to explore our Early Career Development Program opportunities.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nAdvanced 3D modeling techniques or experience with complex assemblies.\nFamiliarity with simulation concepts or coursework such as finite element analysis.\nFamiliarity with linear algebra.\nExperience using NX for mechanical design or simulation preparation.\nStrong organizational and time-management skills.\nAbility to communicate technical information effectively.\nAttention to detail and willingness to learn simulation workflows.\nAs part of the application, you will be asked to confirm your enrollment status.
