The Machine Build Apprentice is an entry level position for an individual that is interest in becoming a machinist or machine builder. This position will require the individual to work in the machine shop under supervision while at the same time pursuing a journeyman certification.At CGAF, we offer growth opportunities, great benefits and a climate-controlled facility. This position is ideal for a highly motivated team-player who thrives in a fast-paced environment.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesFit and assemble components according to assembly blueprints, manuals, engineering memos, sketches, and knowledge of machine construction.Understands and follows safety & environmental regulations and identifies safety/environmental concerns.Effectively and safely operating hand and power tools, mills, lathes, drill presses, surface grinders, saws, and shearsAnalyze assembly blueprint, schematic, and specifications manuals used in machine building operations.Verifies conformance of parts to bill of material and drawings, using measuring instruments, such as calipers, gauges, and micrometersLay out hole locations and drill and tap holes on parts for assembly.Align components for assembly, manually or with hoist, and bolts, screws, dowels, weld, or rivet parts together.Construct, rebuild, and repair machines and equipment, using hand tools and power tools.Machine start-up and packagingEssential Education & AbilitiesAbility to interact effectively with various departments in the organization.Effective communication and conflict resolution skills.Strong math /computer skills.Must be willing to work overtime as needed.Must be able to lift 25 pounds regularly.High Schools degree/GED.Salary: $17 - $20 per hourJob Posted by ApplicantPro
