Postdoctoral Fellow, Immunology Discovery, Moussion Lab
The OpportunityWe are seeking a highly motivated, creative and collaborative postdoctoral fellow to perform discovery research focusing on the immunobiology of the tissue microenvironment with an emphasis on antigen presentation, immune cell trafficking, imaging and cell‑cell communication. By combining innovative imaging technology with genetic and pharmacological tools the successful candidate will pursue basic discoveries and reverse translational research efforts from human genetics to mouse models to improve the outcome of immunotherapies.You will be expected to make intellectual as well as technical contributions by leading cross‑functional projects. You will independently read literature to design, execute, and analyze experiments, frequently communicating with other departments as part of a diverse and multidisciplinary community in a highly dynamic fast‑paced environment. You will present the work at various forums across the research organization, international conferences and publish articles.ResponsibilitiesConduct in vivo screens using STAMP in chronic inflammatory diseases and cancer.Design and perform experiments that explore antigen presentation, immune cell trafficking, imaging and cell‑cell communication.Utilize high‑content imaging, microscopy and single‑cell/spatial transcriptomics.Collaborate with computational scientists for big‑data analysis, including AI and image analysis.Lead cross‑functional projects and communicate results to internal and external audiences.Publish findings in high‑quality scientific journals.Who You AreA relevant PhD in Immunology, Cancer Immunology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Genomics, or Vascular Biology with a strong in‑vivo research background.Experience with in‑vivo rodent models and immunology (mandatory).Expected to work closely with computational scientists for big‑data analysis (AI, image analysis, genetics and single‑cell/spatial transcriptomics).Experience in imaging or genetic screens (preferred).Expertise in molecular and cellular biology techniques, including microscopy, isolation and culture of primary cells, immune cell functional assays, flow cytometry and immunohistochemistry.Excellent communication and writing skills and a track record of working in highly collaborative environments.Track record of completing challenging technical problems independently and creatively, with publications in high‑quality scientific journals.Creative problem‑solving spirit and ability to integrate detailed analyses into a larger disease‑oriented context.Preferred QualificationsOmics, imaging or computational expertise.Postdoc ProgramElevate your research career to new heights with Genentech’s Postdoctoral Program.
