Data & Lead Research Intern

We're hiring a Deal Research & Market Intelligence Intern for the summer at Inflection Point Partners.IPP is a Los Angeles-based M&A advisory firm. We work exclusively with business owners in the lower middle market — $500K to $10M EBITDA — helping them find the right private equity partner. We are not business brokers. We are not bankers. Our fees are paid by the buyers, which means our incentives are fully aligned with the owners we represent.This internship is for someone who wants to do real work — not format decks in a back office.You'll be building the prospect and lead infrastructure that drives our pipeline: identifying owner-operated businesses across target sectors, enriching and qualifying leads using tools like Apollo.io, LinkedIn, and Pitchbook, and helping prepare the deal materials that go directly in front of institutional buyers.More importantly, you'll be in the room. You'll sit in on live calls with business owners — hearing how they describe what they've built, what they want from a transaction, and what matters to them beyond price. That kind of exposure is rare at the intern level, and we think it's the most valuable thing we can offer someone early in their career.We're looking for:A junior, senior, or MBA student in finance, economics, data science, or businessStrong analytical and research instincts — you know how to find information that isn't handed to youSolid Excel skills; Python is a bonusClear written communication — your work goes into PE-facing materialsGenuine curiosity about entrepreneurship, small business, and private markets
