Echocardiography Sonographer Job Title: Echocardiography Sonographer Profession: Sonographer Specialty: Echo Tech - Echocardiography Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Days M-F, 4x10's or 5x8's, On-Call Nights/Weekends Rotating Hours per Shift: 40 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS-AE) via ARDMS Must-Have: Certifications in adult echo (AE) Description: The unit requires all submissions to include a copy of the candidate's unexpired driver's license. Licensing history must be disclosed at the time of submission. Certifications required include BLS and RDCS. The average number of studies performed daily is between 35-50, depending on staffing levels. Common studies performed include echocardiograms, transesophageal echocardiograms, and stress echocardiograms. Staff members include a vascular surgeon and a cardiologist for readings. Shifts are from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, or 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with additional call requirements. Scrub color should be neat and professional; specific colors are not required. Care settings include both inpatient and outpatient services. Must have actively been scanning for at least one year in the last two years. Charting system used is Allscripts. This position is within the Allied Health Division, and care is delivered in an acute setting.
