Procurement Specialist

We are seeking a hands-on Procurement specialist for our chemical manufacturing client. Key Responsibilities:Manage the procurement of materials, services, and supplies required by the organization, ensuring the best possible price and delivery terms.Collaborate with internal teams (such as production, R&D, and finance) to assess and understand procurement needs, ensuring alignment with business objectives.Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers, negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and service agreements.Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with logistics to ensure timely delivery of raw materials and products, minimizing delays and stockouts.Oversee the logistics process, ensuring the efficient and cost-effective transport of goods from suppliers to the production facility.Track shipments and manage shipping documents to ensure that deliveries are completed on time and in accordance with quality standards.Manage logistics partners (e.g., third-party logistics providers, freight forwarders) to optimize transportation routes, freight costs, and service delivery.Maintain accurate records of procurement transactions, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.Analyze procurement and logistics data to identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.Coordinate the timely receipt of materials and ensure proper handling, storage, and distribution of goods within the plant.Work closely with the accounting team to resolve any discrepancies in billing or shipping.Assist in the preparation of procurement budgets, forecasts, and reports for senior management.Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements in the procurement and logistics processes.Continuously evaluate and improve procurement strategies and logistics operations to enhance operational efficiency.Skills and Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business, Logistics, or related field.Experience in procurement and logistics management preferred, specifically within the chemical or manufacturing industry.Strong knowledge of procurement processes, vendor management, and logistics operations.Proficiency in procurement and logistics software, as well as Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).Excellent negotiation and communication skills.Ability to analyze procurement data and logistics metrics to drive decision-making.Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Familiarity with SAP or other ERP systems is a plus.Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.Work Schedule:Full-time position, with flexibility required based on operational needs.This role will report to the Procurement Manager for the Americas
