The Press Operator will engage in the efficient set-up, operation, and quality standards of flexographic printing and perform daily maintenance of equipment and related tasks as determined and required.\nTO PERFORM THIS JOB SUCCESSFULLY, AN INDIVIDUAL MUST BE ABLE TO PERFORM EACH ESSENTIAL DUTY SATISFACTORILY. THE REQUIREMENTS LISTED BELOW ARE REPRESENTATIVE OF THE KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND/OR ABILITY REQUIRED. REASONABLE ACCOMMODATIONS MAY BE MADE TO ENABLE INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES TO PERFORM THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS.\nThis position would include press trainees, delta diecutters and press assistants(for the construction presses)\nAdheres to safety policies.\nUnderstand and support the Corporate Mission Statement, Values, Vision, and Operating Principles (attached).\nAdhere to mandatory daily stretch, safety requirements.\nUnderstand and adhere to the policies and procedures outlined in the employee manual.\nA Press Operator reports directly to his/her TRP or Supervisor of his/her shift. A Press Operator works indirectly with Quality Assurance on a daily basis for quality standards and sign-off.\nWork directly with their TRP/Supervisor to understand and support the goals, plans, and policies of the organization\nUnderstand from TRP/Supervisor what steps to go through for verification before a job is taken down\nWork with TRP/Supervisor to minimize and avoid future backorders, reruns, and flag sheet occurrences\nReport for work on time daily per your designated hours and request vacation as designated by the department vacation guidelines\nWork overtime as requested by management\nPerform the mandatory daily stretching to contribute to a healthier, safe work environment\nKeep your press area clean and safe by abiding within the established company cleanliness requirements, AIB, and safety policies and procedures\nProperly fill out and complete paperwork including, but not limited to, QA check sheets, QA 1st label sign-off, roll end procedures, operator sign-offs on each p/n along with obtaining QA sign-offs, flag sheets, time sheets, item spec folders, job history cards, die retools, artwork change form, production job changes, and required work orders\nResponsible for verification of job material requirements, copy and color requirements, press diagram sheet and anilox requirements\nResponsible for following current and any new procedures including, but not limited to, make ready tasks, wash-up procedures, sheeter set-up procedures, die retool procedures, roll end procedures, proper handling of anilox rolls, etc.\nVerifying all information first, before you call for QA first sign-off\nKnow and understand your section of responsibility on the job and read it, follow it, and perform it, reporting any discrepancies to your TRP/Supervisor for correction\nReport any necessary maintenance required on the press or auxiliary equipment to your TRP/Supervisor and fill out the required work order\nRequest help from your TRP/Supervisor in trouble-shooting, planning, and direction of jobs\nFollow and perform all established procedures for quality of product including, but not limited to, routine inspection of roll ends, varnish tests, regular in process checks to monitor color, registration, die cuts, etc.\nFollow and perform all established procedures for specialized accounts including, but not limited to, Web decoders, Prism, security game pieces, coupons, etc.\nAdhere to assigned company break times\nPerform daily preventative maintenance\nRequest direction or additional training as needed\nWork together as a team to improve and streamline the process with each department\nMay be required to view labels with assistance of strobe light (Warning: Strobe lights may trigger epileptic seizures in persons with photosensitive epilepsy)\nQualifications and Education Requirements\nHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.\nAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.\nAbility to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.\nAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
