The Psych Technician will provide inpatient and outpatient care at the Acute Psychiatric and Intermediate Unit.\nRequired:\nGraduation from an accredited Psychiatric Technician Program; or completion of an equivalent education and experience that meets the requirement of the American Association of Psychiatric Technicians (AAPT) or completion of education and experience as a behavioral science specialist/technician in the United States military and proof of having completed an Armed Forces course involving psychiatric technician training or civilian course from an accredited school in the care of behavioral health patients.\n1 year of experience after graduation.\nThe total hourly pay for this non-exempt position is $34.00 for up to 40 hours per week. This is comprised of a base hourly rate of $29.07 plus $4.93 per hour of Health & Welfare (H&W) for up to 40 hours per week as required by the Service Contract Labor Standards (SCLS) regulations. The above rate represents the company’s good faith and reasonable estimate of possible compensation at the time of posting. In addition, for eligible positions we offer a variety of benefits including specified holidays, paid leave, health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, life and disability insurance, tuition reimbursement, as well as 401K with company match. This job will be posted until filled or withdrawn.\nResponsibilities:\nConduct or assist in treatment and rehabilitation of patients. Perform initial basic assessment procedures including standardized psychological testing, clinical interviewing, mental status examinations, substance abuse evaluations, and psychological and nursing assessment.\nIdentify mental health and nursing diagnoses and provide patient education.\nObserve, monitor, record, and report patient's progress.\nConduct or assist in conducting group and individual counseling, therapeutic community, and other related milieu activities.\nInstitute precautionary measures to prevent patient injury or suicide.\nAssist patients with nutritional, hygiene, and comfort measures.\nObtain and record vital signs.\nCoordinate with other agencies regarding specified care, treatment, prevention, rehabilitation, and administrative functions.
